Strange stalker UPDATE # 2
So I am home from work today and I've spent most of the day relaxing on the couch. From my couch, I can see the stop sign at the corner of our street. A guy in a navy blue Caravan keeps driving by, stopping at the stop sign for several seconds/minutes, looking down our street, and then keeps driving. He usually keeps going once I go to the door and look at him and he comes by every 20-30 minutes or so. I took a picture of the caravan just in case. I tried to call our neighbor, who is home with a 3 week old baby, just to tell her to lock the doors but she isn't home. This guy is creeping me out!
****UPDATE**** DH and I were making dinner and I saw the guy pass by one more time (this was number 10 in about 6 hours). DH took off after him and followed him. DH got his address and license plate number. When DH arrived back home, a police officer happened to be sitting outside of our house giving out tickets to people who run the stop sign. DH and I let him know what was happening. Our neighbor came outside and told us and the cop that a blue minivan has been driving by the house saying hello to her 8 year old daughter!!!  I'm so happy the cop came!! He went and drove to the address of the guy and the guy denied that he was there. The cop said that the guy has a really long rap sheet and was in jail a few times. He also told the guy that there was a picture of him sitting at the stop sign (good thing I took a pic ). The guy continued to deny it and the cop wrote him a ticket. The cop came back and told us to call 911 if he comes by again. We are keeping our doors and windows locked for a while!
UPDATE # 2-- So, the day after this whole thing happened, my next door neighbor calls me (the one with the 8 year old girl) and tells me that the guy in the van was PARKED OUTSIDE THEIR HOUSE!!!  Her husband ran outside and the guy took off like a bat outa H E L L!! So, he follows the guy to his house and calls the police. The guy, once again, denied that he was sitting at the stop sign. My neighbor said that police officer was not very helpful, but he did write a report. She is going to call the school, which is up the street, and notify them of this jerk!

You think? The cops? I would hate to call 911 when someone might be having a real emergency. Maybe I'll just call the police station.

Call the cops.
My dad worked from home when I was a kid and he said he could always tell when someone was "casing" the neighborhood.

I would call the police too. When I lived at home, we had someone do the same thing, the cops came. I don't know what happened, but they did stop the vehicle.

ITA! Same thing happened to my block and they ended up robbing a house!

i'd be creeped out too krista..definitely let the precinct know. can't hurt to just warn them about it

If you call the precinct, they will tell you to call 911. All the calls that go out to the sector cars go through 911. You should have them check it out.

Call the cops. This happened in my neighborhood once, when my next door neighbor was robbed. His wife was in the hospital and the robbers must have know when he would be home, they robbed the house in the middle of the day. They were almost foiled, because my dad was sick so my mom was home. However, she was so concerned about my dad, she actually stopped to let the robbers cross the street.

OMG! How scary, I'm so glad the cop was there!! Its weird how he was driving around so many times, then stopped to say hello to that little girl....seems strange! Well at least he knows people are looking out for him now!
