Length of hospital stays
How long do you stay for a vaginal birth? How long do you stay for a c-section?
(assuming no complications with either).
Just curious...thanks!

Re: Length of hospital stays
I had 2 c-sections. With #1 I stayed 4 nights and with #2 I stayed for 3. I had the option either way.

Winthrop.
I stayed 4 nights (the 1st day does not count). Had the baby on Friday. Left on Tuesday. I had the option to leave on Monday... but I was not ready to go home.
ETA: I had a c-section.

Re: Length of hospital stays
Per my insurance, 48 hours for a v-birth, 96 for a c-section. While they won't release you at 1am, they will release pretty late in the day based on the number of hours rather than days.

Re: Length of hospital stays
I was in the hospital 3 nights...but the rule was 2 postpartum nights spent in the hospital. I had the baby the afternoon after I checked in.
ETA - this was for a vaginal delivery.

Re: Length of hospital stays
I think insurance pays for up to 4 days with a c-section and two days for vaginal, depending on your situation.
