Re: How do you get to work?
DH usually drives into downtown and I catch the train the rest of the way.

Re: How do you get to work?
Nowadays I take the train, but I used to bike the 4 miles to work. Getting sweaty (or killed ) wasn't a problem, but I hated showing up to work with helmet-head!

Re: How do you get to work?
I drive. It's 16 miles or so to work, and I'm not in that good of shape to ride my bike! (Plus, I prefer off-roading, not riding on the street with idiots in cars who don't watch out for bikers....)
The train that I live close to isn't on the same line as the station near work, so I would have to travel west to Jamaica, then transfer, and head back east. It would take hours. To drive to the line that goes to work would be just about as far as actually driving to work. I did carpool for a while, but the person I was riding with moved, so that doesn't work anymore.

Curious b/c I COULD ride my bike to work, but I'm not quite sure I WANT to for safety reasons.
I used to ride a bike to work. It was only a mile each way and I LOVED it. It pretty much took the same amount of time as driving, because it was such a short distance and I found it very relaxing. DH works about 3 miles from our place now and just got a new bike, but his route takes him on much more congested roads and he's nervous about all the cars zooming past him - I can't blame him.
ETA: I carpool now.

Same here! I work just over 2 miles from my house. I considered doing that but
1) I am nervous
2) I don't want to get sweaty and wrinkled!
This is my situation. I don't want to arrive with helmet head, I don't know where I'd store the bike during the day and I DON'T like how people drive.
