Let's name the strange things our kids play with

A house full of toys and what has my daughter been playing with for the last hour? Two packages of the kleenex travel tissues and a sock! What are your DC favorite non-toys?

My mom couldn't find any toys for Taylor to play with the other day so she gave her the top rubber part of a turkey baster to play with....and she loved it!!

4yo DS: carboard boxes

14mo DD: remote controls. The main that we use is the easiest one for her to get to, so she's often changing the channel on us. I have a non-functioning remote that is hers, but it's not as fun as the real one...
Plastic cage thing for the dishwasher. It's for washing the bottle nipples in the dishwasher without them flying all over the place. She loves it, as does DS.
Cans of food. The pantry is at floor level, so DD loves to open the door and pull out cans of food and carry them around. Sometimes we have to wander around the house to find something for dinner....

Loves the dog toys, remotes, phones and his new thing is throw pillows off the couch!

mine and DH's cell phone...he has a toy cell phone but he prefers the real thing!

Cell Phones, regular phones, remotes (he'll use that as a phone too)...funniest was the puzzle piece he used as a phone the other day

He likes bottles of water, cardboard boxes, pretty much everything that's not a toy

Let's see, what doesn't she play with. She loves the remote, tags, water bottles, tissue paper.... Yesterday she was playing with one of those sheet protectors my DH left out. She was entertained for like a half hour.

ETA: She also likes to play with feet, not just her own but other peoples' too!

I love this thread..
DD loves the Cablevision remote (we tried other ones we don't use all the time, like the DVD player, but no dice).
A plastic water bottle (Poland spring favored), sometimes with water in it, or even cherrios..

And yes also, the box a toy comes in, just as much if not more than the toy. lol!

Oh I wanted to add that once friends & I were talking and someone commented that they test cat toys and baby toys the same way.. how, i don't know. But now that I think about it, maybe I should pay Petco a visit and maybe save some money

My spice jars, and the drawers they are in; a little Dutch Girl magnet from the fridge -- she carries it everywhere.

Kaitee loves Daddies shoes and socks! She always has one of his shoes or socks in her hand. I don't know why she never plays with mine
