They just stated that the bridge was inspected three years ago and was given a clean bill of health... so I don't get it! I pray all of those people that were injured will be okay!

They said that there was construction work being done on the bridge - I am sure that this had to play a part in the collapse....

Yes, but where is it? In this circumstance, I am sure EVERYTHING in the car is tossed and turned. If it is in the glove box, how can you reach it?

They are saying construction was being done to the facade, not the structure

My Dh's entire family lives in MN. Luckily from what we heard nobody was on 35W when this happened. I have been on that bridge everytime we visit his parents.
The news is saying it wasn't terrorism. The bridge was under construction.

It's been really hard for them to call anyone and for us to call them. The phones have been overloaded.

It can be mounted anywhere on the car - thus it won't be tossed around. Mine is mounted on the door so it is within reach.

They said the bridge was scheduled to be knocked down and rebuilt in 2020. It was already budgeted and everything. From what we "heard".

I don't get it. they kept saying the bridge was 40 yrs old. that's is not old at all IMO! the Brooklyn bridge was built more than 125 yrs ago.

It's not terrorism! The bridge was under construction to bring it up to code. The samething happened in the tri-state aea not so long ago, in Cos Cob, CT.
I cannot believe only 3 people lost their lives, I remember the earthquake in San Francisco when the bridge collapsed. I still have vivid pictures in my mind.

I can't believe this, My family lives in Minnesota and take that bridge all of the time, the first thing I did was call them to make sure they were all ok.

This is so awful.
My brother was in Minnesota on business and he apparently drove over the bridge 20 minutes before it collapsed. I'm so thankful he's okay.
