On hating being fat and pregnant: “As a new mom I’m supposed to go on about how wonderful it was to be pregnant. Well, I don’t buy into that. The truth is that I love my baby to bits, but the rest of it sucked. Pregnancy was the biggest killer for me. I hated it - I hated being fat. My hormones were all over the place and I acted like some lunatic, picking fights with my boyfriend over how he made my coffee.”
On being accustomed to looking hot (before the pregnancy): “On top of that I had this hideous ‘pregnancy mask’ skin discoloration which completely covered my face. You can normally use creams to disguise it, but not when you’re pregnant, so I had to walk around looking like I was horribly disfigured. This may sound arrogant, but I’m used to looking hot. I just wanted to cry all the time.”
Her feelings about women who adopt: “Some women just skip having babies or adopt because they don’t want to get fat or they haven’t put in the time to find a partner. It’s great to adopt, but a lot of adoptions are motivated by vanity and laziness.”
On wanting to be a “super-sexy” mom: “I’m having a party and then a holiday and I aim to be in a super-slutty outfit for the first and a swimsuit for the second. I love being a mother, but I want to be a super sexy mother with a better body than ever before. When I pull on my spray-on jeans for my party, I want to look in the mirror and like what I see.”

WTH? Haven't put in the time to find a partner? That whole statement just rubs me the wrong way.
I guess having gone through infertility, and having friends go through it and their only option may be to adopt, that just really ticked me off.
But hey, maybe she just knows a lot of shallow people like she is.

While I wholeheartedly disagree with her statements about adoption, I can KIND OF see what she's saying about being pregnant.
I am not a huge fan of the added pounds, and while I love the fact that I am bringing life into this world, I can't wait to get back to pre-pregnancy status or better.
She needs to words her statements a little more carefully though.

WHY is she a 'moron' or an "a hole" ??
I agree she could have chosen her words better re: adoption - But I took her comments as genuine and HONEST - NOT eveyone LOVES being pregnant. Not everyone sugar coats the whole process and looks at it through rose colored glasses - gaining weight and looking and feeling like hell, morning sickness, 10,000 dr. appointments, having someone else take control of your entire body -
She's saying she HATED being pregnant, but the end result - her baby - was all worth it - And those who adopt because they don't WANT to be bothered with the 'inconvenience' of a pregnancy are lazy (not those who have infertility issues)
And now that the pregnancy is over, she wants to get back to being HERSELF - What is so wrong with that ??? Being someone's mother is NOT the ONLY part of a woman's life (althrough it should be the most important part, it's not the ONLY part of who a woamn is !!)

It says "her feelings on women who adopt" it's her opinion, being in her industry she probably DOES see many women who do not want to get pregnant because of what it may do to their bodies, and ultimately, their careers -
She's saying she thinks THOSE people are lazy and vain -

You're missing the point, these are NOT your average, everyday people she's talking about - She's in Hollywood -
Would have annoyed you as much if she phrased it differently and said she thinks single women who adopt should be sure someone other than a NANNY will raise their children while they go off to their next movie set in Europe??

I think she hears your point, she just has a different opinion.
I read the same thing and I still think she is a moron who made inappropriate comments. It is just a different opinion.

Problem is, she didn't specifically say that. She was still way to general in her statement, and that could offend a lot of people who adopt for the right reasons.

Ok - I'll concede - I guess I'm not easily offended. So that's JMO about her comments -
She's a B list actress, I'm not saying she's splitting the atom, I'm just saying don't be so quick to attack her and say she's an ignorant moron - Take it from where it's coming from -
If she were the leader of the free world I'd expect a little more diplomacy and tact..........well, no, maybe not -

I definitely think her comments about adoption are based on what she sees in Hollywood with adopted babies being the newest, hottest accessory. If she had any sense she would have qualified the statement to take the sting out of it...but clearly she has no sense.

I think she's surrounded by selfish people and existing in a different world. So, I guess to her, this is reality. On the other hand, she doesn't have to love being pregnant or the weight gain. On the other other hand, she looked pretty good preg, IMO!

I agree with erox over there. she should have qualified her statement.
other than that, it's her opinion and her feelings on her own pregnancy. can't really get on her for how she feels about what she went through.
