Crying in the car
My sister's baby cries the entire length of the car ride. He stops immediately when it's time to get out. Does anyone else's baby do this? He's 7 months now and it's only gotten worse.

Re: Crying in the car
My DD has started to dothis now, at a year old - I think because she is learning to walk and doesnt like to be retrained for any length of time...

Re: Crying in the car
No, they ruled out car sickness.
He's not hungry. He's not sleepy/tired. He won't take a paci either. And it's not the fact that he is retained. Because he's fine when they strap him in and are carrying him in the infant seat. It's just when the car starts rolling that he gets hysterical.
My sister is so fed up that she just lets him cry it out now, since she ran out of ideas. But, it's the saddest thing, he cries hugeee tears almost immediately.

Re: Crying in the car
Maybe he is lonely? Perhaps having some kind of toy with lights to keep him busy. Not sure if she already has toys there.
ETA: Maybe the straps are on too tight? Touch the chair, maybe something is hurting his back? Just tyring to think of things. Poor little guy.

Re: Crying in the car
I'm guessing she's already tried all types of toys including the ones that attach to the seat? What about kids music?
I've heard of some babies responding to the white noise of a slightly opened window.

yes! kids music is a good thing to try. I put on one of the little people music cd's for DD and that helps a lot.

Re: Crying in the car
They've tried music. They've got plenty of toys.
They even have a Baby Einstein dvd on for him sometimes.
I don't think there;'s anything wrong with the seta comfortwise, because he's fine when they're tugging him around in the infant seat outside of the car. It's when the car starts moving that he goes ballistic.
he wants out.
I sat next to him this past weekend and all he did was cry and was pleaing with me with his eyes and reaching for my arm as if crying for help to get him out of there!

Re: Crying in the car
My DD cried for her entire first 15mths in the car seat - there was nothing wrong with her. She HATED being restrained. then we turned the car seat around and started singing and playing nursery rhyme CDs and now she is fine...tell your sister to hang in there...this should pass!
