I saved a Praying Mantis this morning
He or She crawled inside my kitchen window screen to get out of the rain last night so I left it there, hoping it would find it's own way out in the morning.
But it was still there when I got up so I tried to guide it with my hands to the exit  and I finally had to take it in my hands and bring it outside.
DH asked if it would bite me or something.  But it was perfectly behaved. At the end of the season they get to 6 inches long, I don't think I would try the same thing with those guys. 
They lay their eggs in my garden every year and the little baby mantises are adorable.
Did you know that they have never been protected by law? It's an urban legend.
But they only hang around healthy gardens and eat the bad bugs, so if you ever see one in your yard, you're doing a good job.

Good for you for saving a member of the endangered species.
And those baby pics are really cute. But when I see them they are much bigger and truthfully scare the cr ap out of me!

I love them! I had one in my yard 2 summers ago. They look like little aliens, they are fascinating!

Awesome- they are the COOLEST.
Twice in my life with my Saturn, I have gone to open unlock the door, and there was one on the roof, 6" tall, staring at me!
random.
I never saw the babies, they are so cute!

Funny you say that, I found one on my car once too. I picked it up with a paper plate because it was huge!
Maybe because he was green... my car is green... 
I love how they turn their heads to look at you too. You can't sneak up on them.
