I had that at a couple of apartments I looked at and this was over five years ago.
They generally run your credit and/or check references if you gave them.
I don't think it's a bad thing these days...It's very hard to get a good renter. I heard so many horror stories from my landlords.

I think it's normal........ I think people are alot more cautious when renting now..... They check ref. and most times will run a credit report as well....GL I hope you get it
