How do you get over being angry at a friend?

I am very upset about something a great frined of mine said. She's upset too, but is not thinking rationally and it's really bothering me that she is not thinking of anyone but herself.
I am afraid she never will, and I need a few days to get over this.

How do you manage to just get over being angry at a friend?

Have you confronted your friend and tell her what she does bother you? If not, maybe you should and if she doesn't understand your feeling's than take a couple of day's... than try again and she what happens.good luck.

I think that you both need some time apart and once you are not so angry, just talk to her and tell her how you feel.

than distance yourself from her, you can't be a good friend if you can't communicate.

I was really angry at a friend last year to the point I couldnt talk to him after I confronted him and he said some mean things to me. Im not one to stay mad so I basically let it go. I guess I have forgiven, but have not forgotten.

Honestly, I never get over it. As much as I try, I can't. Then I have to seperate from the friend.

this actually happened to me, we didnt talk for a year, started talking again and walah another fight and we dont talk anymore. People change and I have to say at first I was upset but it was and is the best thing that could have happened for me.

I think it depends on the circumstances. I haven't spoken to 2 "friends" since shortly after my wedding (which they were in) because of stuff that happened during that year. That was almost 3 years ago. I've tried to get over it and contact them but it didn't work -- they didn't meet me half-way.

you have to decide to just let go of it.

you can't control if she's going to talk about it, but you can control how you let yourself feel about it.

Right now I'm on a break from a friend. Even though I've been busy, I usually make time for her if we're on a good streak.

It's been almost a month since we've gotten together. I do like her, but I need to take her in smaller doses. DH has always commented that she's not a nice person. She is fun to hang out with when I haven't seen her for awhile.

It's a different situation than you're in. If she's not thinking rationally & you think it would make things better, I would talk to her. There are usually only 2 or 3 ways something can end. If you bring up those options & the liklihood of them, maybe she'll see the light?

I am also having trouble with a friend lately. I have reevaluated our friendship and determined that she is not the friend she once was. That being said, I did not feel the need to confront her. I just lowered my expectations of what kind of friend she is so that I am not constantly dissappointed in her and see her in small doses. So far it is working.

I'm sort of in the same boat right now and I haven't figured out how I want to deal with this person down the road. I know when I get angry or upset, I shut down, so that's my current mode

Unfortunately if she refuses to discuss the situation with you, there is no real way for either of you to air your feelings, which will lead to a lot of resentment and sweeping of things under the rug.
I guess you have to wait till she is ready to discuss the situation, and until then continue to live your own life while reflecting on the friendship.
