How much do you work?

How many hours are you in the office per week (on average)?

ETA: If more than 40, do you get paid salary or hourly? And do you get paid overtime?

Re: How much do you work?

I work 50+ hours a week in the office and if I have something big going on, I will also work from home at night and on the weekends.

I am an attorney so I just get a salary - no overtime or anything like that.

40 -50 not including driving time - but I get time and a half for O/T so it's worth the extra hours.

Re: How much do you work?

I work on average about 45 hours a week. I am a consultant and get paid hourly...so I don't mind when I have to work extra hours. Also..sometimes I work for more than 1 client at a time, so I bill each for the hours worked.

I am a FT SAHM.

However, I do work 1 day a week in an office if they have work for me. So its not every week, but I do work on Tuesday if there is a project for me to work on (I am a consulting engineer outside of mommy-dom). I get paid for the amount of hours I bill.

45-50 hrs a week. Then "on call" when I'm not at the office.

I don't get OT.

Re: How much do you work?

hmmmm, office-wise I would say 40, but I am on call 24/7 via b-berry and cell

for ex. my show that tapes on Monday doesn't even start until 6 pm and we won't finish until 2 am...and that is on top of a reg day.

I get paid by project, usually by day...
but I also am working multiple projects at once, so the money is good.

Re: How much do you work?

I found it hard to come up with a good answer. As a teacher I clock 35 hours a week in school, but I bring crap home with me and do zillions of things on my own time.

I guess it's 50ish hours, but even that sounds low to me.

Re: How much do you work?

I'm a SAHM. DH does a minimum of 60 hours in the office M-F, plus then he's on the blackberry at night and weekends/holidays/vacation. He's salary, no overtime. But he does get an annua bonus and profit sharing that's based on how much the fund made or lost based on his recommendations.

Re: How much do you work?

We have a 35 hr work week. If we work more than that, it's considered "flex time" and we can deduct it from the following work week by coming in later or leaving earlier.

Re: How much do you work?

Im a CPA, so it really fluctuates, lately, I've barely been working 24, come July, October, and January, February, the sky is the limit. No Overtime, which is why I take advantage of the slow times, in the end, it averages out to about 50 hours/ a week.
