Look what the wind did...(pics)
It is almost like we had a mini tornado here last night. I am sooo mad. Our brand new table. I don't even know how I am supposed to clean this up! I am even more mad because we didn't even finish paying for it. It is always something with us!!!!!!!!
And I can't believe that it can break that easily. It is sooo dangerous.
The umbrella and another chair blew over near the fence.

Same thing happened to us during a storm (but much stronger than this) when I didn't take down the umbrella .
There is a glass place on Larkfield that fixed it for a few hundred dollars.
FM me if you need the #
and be careful! I did get cut because we had to clean it up with the wind still kicking up or it was going to be all over our yard.
eta. Use a shovel & a broom to get the bulk of it up.

Yikes!!! Be careful cleaning it up! That is one of the reasons I told DH I didn't want a glass table...I had something similar happen at my parents house when I was younger!

Did you end up getting the glass fixed or just buying a new table?

We actually bought it at Harrows the yr before they went out of business... we couldn't get a replacement because the manufacturer and Harrows were gone We haven't gotten the glass replaced because I don't want it to happen again, we've been looking for a new table, but haven't found one yet

I am wondering if I should call Sears and complain. It shouldn't have broke into a thousand pieces. That is soo dangerous for an outside table.
I didn't even start paying for it because it is on deferred billing.

You could try to complain... but when I complained about my table I was told that because I left the umbrella in it, it was my fault....
because the table is made with tempered glass, which is stronger than regular glass, it broke into a million pieces, it does that to reduce the sharp edges that are dangerous
eta - the best way to clean it up is a shop vac

That stinks! We had that happen one day when we left the umbrella open and it was very windy. We were not home. We had just bought the set from K-mart so they replaced it for us.

Oh man, sorry that happened to you.
Those glass tables can be very fragile. DH and a friend were moving one once and they picked it up the wrong way and the glass shattered into a million little pieces!

So sorry it happened, but that's why I was afraid of getting a glass top table!
Since its on deferred billing, there's no doubt you should call Sears and see if they can do something for you.

OMG!  I'm so sorry that happened!
I had no idea glass tables were so fragile, glad DH and I decided against purchasing it this year.
I wonder if it will be cheaper to get a new table or new glass?
