Vent: Is it just me?
I just lugged a huge garden hose and sprinkler around Home Depot and NOBODY EVEN PAUSED TO HELP ME. Then when I get to the register the cashier didn't even put my stuff in a bag and watched me go to pick up the garden hose and the plastic broke on the hose and it fell to my feet and he just STARED at me. I asked him to help me and he kept staring.
NOT ONCE DURING THIS PREGNANCY HAS ANYONE IN PUBLIC GONE OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP ME!! I'm sorry, but this is just rude, rude, rude! I am 33 weeks and obviously pregnant. I am so teaching my little girl to help people when she gets older. Nobody has even given up their line in the bathroom for me. I am just so surprised...I thought some people were nicer, but I guess not.
Unbelievable.

People only really hold doors for me but that is really it.
I think that is crazy though that no one even offered to help you.
I have one worse than that though. When I was 36 weeks me and DH went into the city to the Christmas Spectacular. The train on the way home was PACKED. Not one seat open in any car when we got on. I had to stand from Penn Station to Wyandanch!! No one would give up a seat for me. I was VERY pregnant and looked like I was ready to give birth anyday. I was stunned! After that, nothing surprises me anymore.

I'm sorry, what a rude jerk. I was just in Macy's & in the narrow jewelry aisles, walking through. A mom and her 2 kids (about 13, 10) were coming the other way & there were people stopped at the counter, so only one of us could pass, instead of letting me go (w/ my packages) she pushed past w/ her kids and I had to step back to avoid being smushed.
This morning though as I was walking into Dunkin' Donuts an older man was getting out of his car and he looked at me and smiled and said, "happy mother's day." (that was nice)

It really depends. Sometimes I notice that people could care less (usually when I'm food shopping and old ladies are ramming their carts into my belly) and then there are times when I feel like people go out of their way (Of course I can't think of a single example right now) 
I know that I will def. treat pregnant girls much differently now that I have gone through it. Not that I was ever mean to them but I will go out of my way to help in the future bc I know how hard it is.

Nope it's not you. As a matter of fact I was exiting the building of my job this afternoon and a guy just walk through the door and let it go. He did not have the common decency to hold the door for me.
Talking about worthless and trashy.  
Try not to get down about it. We are living in a society where there is alot of inconsiderate human beings unfortunately.

I guess maybe I'm being really sensitive to everything since I am pregnant....I probably didn't treat pregnant ladies that nicely before I became pregnant...it just seems so obvious to me now because I'm living it...

This is one of the reasons why I like bedrest-I dont deal with selfish, thoughtless people much.
The funny thing is that the people "mistreating" us preggos will either be pregnant or have family members who are and they will complain like we are without realizing that its a vicious cycle they contribute to.

No, it's not just you. Maybe I'm cranky because I'm not sleeping well but my general mentality lately is that most people just suck and people who are rude should be hit with a stick.

I have had people shove me out of the way for a seat on the train or bus before or not hold a door but that pales in comparison. I would have been furious. That was so rude and totally uncalled for. I'm sorry that happened to you

I can totally relate BTW. I can't tell you how many times I drag my preggo but to the store with my double wide stroller and people walk around me, through the door, and let it slam in front of me!! As if it isn't rude enough to do that to just anyone...I have a stroller and a belly!!!! I have gotten to the point where I say "Thanks a lot" with sarcasm, and that isn't who I want to be!!!

I have to say, my experience has been the complete opposite- to the point where I'm like because people treat me like an invalid.

I know. When I was pregnant I actually had someone bump into me with a cart and never apologize. Someone almost hit me once with their car too in a parking lot. People are unbelieveable!

You can't tell I'm pg, so I haven't had this experience, but I remember when I took the subway I was always shcoked when a pg woman would be standing there and no one would give her a seat.

I didnt expect to be treated differently, so I never got mad if someone didnt give up a place in line for the bathroom or offer to help me with something.
If I needed help I asked...
If I was at a store and needed to buy something heavy, I just put it in a cart rather than carry it. If I needed help getting it in the cart, I just asked a sales person.
