Does anyone else still get freaked out by low flying planes?
I live pretty close to LaGuardia, so I constantly hear and see planes as they are landing or taking off. Even though I have lived here for over a year, I still get nervous when I hear the engines or see one flying low, and I completely freeze until it's gone.
Right after 9/11, I was much worse about this, and would practically start crying when planes flew over my car when I was driving by Newark.
On 9/11, I watched the second plane fly into the tower while I was on the Staten Island ferry. The whole time I watched it fly across the water, I was convincing myself that it was a rescue plane. Needless to say, I was wrong.

Yes. And I used to live in the landing space for Republic. It was horrible if the military planes or the leer jets were coming in.

Yes. We have helicopters that fly so close to our building too. It drives me crazy, I jump.

I've lived a stone's throw from JFK for my entire life, so for the most part I'm used ot it, but if a plane is flying especially low, or seems to be going faster than it should, or sometimes when I see a plane coming in over the parkway (SO LOW) I get a little nervous. It was more pronounced after 9/11. Now I'm used to it, but if I hear that sound of a low plane going really really fast my mind definitely goes there.

I'm on the flight path to LaGuardia and sometimes they fly really low near my house. I hate it!
