Do you know any moms who smoke pot?
I was surprised to learn that people I know or friends of friends do. I guess I just figure this is something most people outgrow.
If you do know someone I'm curious how you feel about it.

Someone very close to me does. They wait for daughter to go to bed, then light up. Daughter is not stupid, I am not for the example this is setting. Its illegal.
However, if it was legal....as long as its not being smoked around child, I think its the same as drinking.
I don't think pot is a bad thing, just an illegal thing. I could not imagine not being in control of a situation regarding Josh. I need a clear head.
If it were legal, and Josh had a babysitter, I would totally smoke. To me, its the same as getting a drink.

yeah i outgrew that when I was 15 but I know alot of moms and dads that do it and I would hope they would have stopped when they had kids

I was suprised to find out my friend's SIL still did. It just seems irresponsible to me. Also I always felt smoking pot was something you did when you were young. Still doing it in your 30's and 40's just seems silly to me. It's like being the old person at the club.

When I was younger I smoked but not anymore (not in years) but I have friends that still do. Some are parents and some aren't. I know that my parents did when I was a kid and as much as they tried to hide it, it was so obvious. My parents were young when I was born (18, & 20) and I think the times were a bit different. So if parents out there think they are slick in hiding it from their children, they are wrong. Kids are smarter than you think.
ETA - IMO I don't think smoking pot is bad either. As others have said I don't really think there is much of a difference b/w that and drinking.

I think all of my friends for the most part stopped when they had children although every once in a while they may indulge if they are out or at a party.
I don't see the difference between that and having a few drinks.

Yes...they live out of state and insist that they only smoke when the kids are asleep. I don't know though.

That's how I feel too. This conversation came up at work and I've never smoked pot, never even tried it and everyone was shocked. I know a couple of mothers that do, but they aren't my friends..more of acquaintances.

Yes I do know someone that does. They insist they only do it when their child is slepping. here's hoping they don't do it in the house. That something I wouldn't want that kids breathing in.
I think it's kind of pathetic to be parents in their 40's smoking up everynight. When does the growing up happen?

Mostly Dads I know... My sil does occasionally. As some one said it is equivialnt to having a couple of drinks- maybe even safer, but it is illeagal( still not sure why) so I dont think that its setting a good example for children. My dad smoked pot when I was a kid- I honestly didnt know until I was about 15.

Im curious to hear why , is it a relaxer? Is your DC at the age to know what it is? are you concerned they may do it at a young age? Like that commercial with the son and dad he tells dad he learned it from him?
Im not judging, just curious.

I know a couple that smokes regularly. Their teenaged son is now having issues with drinking and drug use, but they fail to see themselves as part of the problem.
It actually disgusts me.

It wasn't me, but if I were them I wouldn't reveal myself. It is illegal and if law enforcement wanted to, they can force LIF to provide that person's information. Why draw attention to yourself if you can avoid it, KWIM?

I havent since I was a teenager... I guess it just wasnt "fun" anymore!
I do know a couple mommy friends that occasionally smoke- but it is once in a blue moon and when their child isnt in there care!
