WE'RE HOME!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my birth story!!
hi everyone!!! we're back!!
you all know i had a scheduled c-section on Thursday 4/19 @ winthrop...
that morning was very scary for me.. .i was freaking out but still excited!! they checked me in and started all my ivs and such!! then they brought me in for the section.... they sat me on the table and put in the spinal... not bad at all..... the whole situation in much worse.... the spinal was nothing..... then they said okay... put your legs on the table... i couldnt move them already..... it was such a strange feeling!!! then they begin to prep me, shave, sterlize and put in the cathater... again another bo biggie!! since you dont feel it from the spinal.... then they brought dh in and they began... another strange feeling.. i felt everything but no pain what so ever!!!! i dont even remember how long it took beefore my little girl was here.... as soon as they took her out everyone said wow... what a chunker!!! she weighed 8lbs 11oz and was born at 11:16 am on 4/23 and was 21 inches long.... she was crying and i was crying and dh was crying!! it was such a unforgettable moment!! now here's the hardest part...
everyone was moving around her and trying to get her to breath better and get the fliud out of her lungs... they said she had a lot but was fine otherwise... they finally said they were taking her to the NUCI... which i figured okay they just need to get the fliud out.... welll she then stayed there until SUNDAY!!! i had to spend 3 days in the hospital without seeing my baby girl in my room like all the other mommies!!! it was the hardest thing i ever had to do.... but she was being taking care of... i was able to go down there and see her several times a day.... due to her breech presentation and c-section she had an extreme amount of fliud in her lungs they they couldnt get out and was having a more difficult time breathing..... they did a chest xray and just some more fliud they had to get out or wait to dispate.... then the next day they said her oxygen levels were not so well so they were keeping for that now... which improved greatly rather quickly... now on saturday.....while given a check up to be released from the NICU they noticed something didnt sound right in her heart like a murmer....(sp) so they scheduled a echo and found that the valve between the right & left ventricle that usually closes abfter birth has not closed YET.... and that the blood was flowing in both directions and som tissue from the right ventricle was flowing in the left which was a concern for them as well... but they re-assured me that this was all caused from the her pulmonaray problems at birth and will be okay... they just had to watch her so after we thought we were getting her in our room they said she will most likely stay until we both get discharged on monday... thet kept an eye on her and decied to let her come up to the reg nursaery om sunday afternoon and did a echo on monday am... prior to that my pediatrician discharged here and said she was great and he didnt even hear a murmer anymore... or it was so tiny that only an echo will pick it up..... so they she waqs dischargedand i was discharged they did the echo at 9am and we re all ready to leave... just had to wait for the cardiologist to read the echo... which didnt happen until 3pm!!!! we had to wait till 3pm... it was horrible!! we were ready to go since 9am!! but again she said everything looked great!! it was closing and all she needed was a follow up in 3 weeks!!! yeah we were on our way home!!
now as far as my c-section recovery... it was okay.. i was soar right after after but then the next am when they tried to get me walking it was in pain!! but i tried to be brave and was only taking motrin!! BIG MISTAKE on my part!! i was crying i said just give me the perkaset!! (sp) and it was tollerable afterwards but was still very soar! they make you move more and more and day by day it did get better but was still sucked!! eventually sat i was only down to motrin.. just walking slowly being jealous of all the vaginal mommies walking fine in the hallways!!!
well were all all home now safe and healthy.. it was quite an experience and not looking forward do doin it again anytime soon but... still all worth for my little girl!!!

Dont worry about the VSD most of these close on their own..esplecially one that there isnt even a murmur...

Wow - what an experience - glad to see your baby is ok though - that must have been very difficult!!! 
I refused to sit around after my CS for fear of not healing well - no one could believe I just had a C because I was never sitting down!!!

Congrats Megan!! What a story!!! Thank goodness everything is ok now & Grace is doing just fine!!! How is it being a mommy??? I can't wait to see some more pictures (I saw some that Bobby had up)

DOnt' be jealous of V births, some of us had hard births, I know I was in lots of pain for a week!
We'll see how my c this time compares to my rough v birth with dd

Congrats!!!!!! I am glad she is doing better. The same thing happened to Andrew with the fluid and NICU. It was so hard to see other mommies have their babies wheeled in

Congrats glad to hear everything worked out..
BTW... I had a horrible Vaginal Delivery.. could not sit for weeks....my gall bladder surgery hurt less....

Congrats!!! Glad to here you are both home and doing well!! My DS was born at Wintrop almost 4 weeks ago and had to go to the NICU too--it was the hardest time of my life! And he had to stay 3 days after I left. The nurses there were wonderful to him and ti us though--I hope you had the same experience.
And I know how hard it is to be in your room without your new little one when all the other Mommy's have their babies.....it is heartbreaking. So glad you are all home and doing good!
