How do you get rid of
those sores that you get in your mouth? You know, the kind that you get on the side of your tongue or the inside of your cheek. I have one and it's KILLING me!

Re: How do you get rid of
canker sores??
ETA: If so, I feel for you. There is Anbesol that helps numb it. Its a healing process and it can take a bit being an open sore in the mouth. I also tend to scrap off the dead skin with a qtip (HURTS like hell) but helps heal quicker.

Re: How do you get rid of
rinse with warm water & salt. If it persists add peroxide into the mix. (that is what my DDS tells me....)

Re: How do you get rid of
They sell a rinse at Walgreens or CVS - it's dissolving tablets that come in little pouches within a box...
I picked some up for my brother last year, I'm sorry, I don't remember the name.

Re: How do you get rid of
I get them frequently--no advice but anything acidic irritates them and makes them last longer, so avoid orange juice, tomato sauce, etc!

Same as above suggestions ... peroxide, ambesol, salt water or Listerine.

Re: How do you get rid of
Also as a PSA, it's possible that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), a common ingredient in toothpaste, causes and/or worsens canker sores in some people. Look for toothpastes without SLS.

Re: How do you get rid of
Def. warm salt water. Every time I get one I stupidly use the gel for canker sores and after about 3 days I give up and use the salt water and it's usually gone within a day or 2.
