Landscpaing Question
I was wondering how many of you girls hired landscapers to keep up with your property. How many times a month do you use them? Is it more in the summer months?
And if anyone would like to share what they pay that be great.
TIA

Re: Landscpaing Question
We have them and pay $100 a month. That includes the grass cut once a week, all clean-ups, our lawn had to be reseeded 2x, and all fertilizer treatments.

You think I should be expecting 100/mth year round for basic service? Like maintanence and plant a few flowers in the summer? That's higher than I had expected....

Re: Landscpaing Question
I am not sure. I know my IL's pay $20 a week for just basic service.
Planting stuff for our person is always extra.

Do I have to have a landscaper every week? I just want one to mow and put down some chemicals. I can plant some flowers myself.
Thanks!

I would have them come once a week to mow, grass grows pretty quickly in the summer!

Re: Landscpaing Question
You definitely need the lawn mowed once a week from May to October. I think $100 a month for basic service is the going rate. Chemical treatments would be extra.

Okay, this is from my DH, who is in landscaping. You probably have to start cutting in April, but if the weather is milder in March and we get a lot of rain, you may even have to start this month. The grass will grow quicker in May to October and you should cut it every week to between 2 1/2" and 3". You need to keep the grass well watered during the Summer months. You should cut it one more time after the Winter clean-up and that cut should be nice and short. You don't have to cut it at all after the first frost and during the Winter months.
If you are doing the lawncare yourself, he recommends Scotts 1-2-3-4 program for each season.
