Re: Wheatley Heights
Wheatley Heights is right near Wyndanch. The Wyndanch school district isn't too good. In fact, one of the middle schools made it on some list of being one of the most dangerous schools in NY (including NYC schools). I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: Wheatley Heights
Some of Wheatley Heights does go to the Half Hollow SD. Although, I still wouldn't recommend WH. Too close to Wyandanch.

half does, but the other half goes to Wyndanch. I have a friend who teaches in Wyndanch.

Some of Wheatley Heights does go to the Half Hollow SD. Although, I still wouldn't recommend WH. Too close to Wyandanch. Indeed. Although there is a big chunk of WH that is being "revamped" with McMansions & is in the HHH SD. The only other downside is that the area is very close to the LIE & can get quite congested.
I have to say I live in West Babylon & I am closer to the south side of the Danch than some of the new developments are in WH to the Danch. Best recommendation...drive by at different times & different days of the week to get a real feel of the neighborhood.

Re: Wheatley Heights
More than 1/2 of WH goes to Half hollow which is perhaps "the best" district in Suffolk. HHH's has produced numerous Intel contestants, they get great test scores & stats which has made it desirable for many years. In fact some of Wyandanch even goes to Half hollow now. Yes Wyandanch is a rough neighborhood with a higher poverty rate than other Suffolk towns, but to give the next town over a bad rap is going a little too far. I think buying a house in WH is a smart move for someone that wants that school district but can't afford $$$$ Dix Hills. My friend lives in Deer Park & if you walk 200 yards away from her street you're in Wyandanch, she & her 3 sisters all grew up just fine. You can't condemn an entire area because one spot is rough. Its always best to drive around a town you are considering yourself to see what its really like.
