House hunting is tiresome!!!!!

I just needed to vent how tired I am.

Every weekend DH and I have been house hunting. It's fun checking out different places but so tiring.

We actually made an offer for a house yesterday....now we are just waiting to hear back from our agent.

Who else is house hunting???

Re: House hunting is tiresome!!!!!

It is exhausting!! I remember when we were looking. DH did most of the work b/c I was doing the wedding planning but when it got to the point where I had to be involved (ie. to go to open houses and whatnot) man it was crazy!!!

Re: House hunting is tiresome!!!!!

its so tiresome. We've been looking since Sept. 2006, then got serious in Nov 2006 and found something in Jan. 2006. Every weekend, grr!! But its worth it in the end!

It's like our whole weekend just flies by...we just go to one house after another. I know it will be worth in the long run.

We are just in the beginning stages, but I definitely agree. We have done a lot of research and have spent 2 weekends looking at open houses. It is mentally and physically exhausting!

Good luck with your bid!

Thanks!!!!!!

Re: House hunting is tiresome!!!!!

I think for us we spent a LOT of time on MLSLI, but we didn't really get out there and start looking until the weekend before Christmas. Thankfully we found our house mid-Jan...
I think we went two Sundays and one weeknight.

Re: House hunting is tiresome!!!!!

Congratulations! It is tiresome! We luckily didn't have to look for that long (I went to a couple of open houses, liked one and then we found out about a FSBO that we fell in love with).

The next stage was more stressful for me, waiting for the contract to be signed! It took almost 3 weeks in our case.

Well...We are basically looking from Huntington and west of that. We did check Deer park but decided that was too east for us.
We currently have a bid in Glen Cove.

Fingers crossed. And, REA is right. You don't want to be put in a situation.
We just sold our condo, and in contract with buyer, so now we are eligible to place bids.
We all need good luck!

i hear ya - we are also wedding planning too!

we first narrowed down what neighborhoods we wanted- that took about 4 months - then we knew we wanted E. Npt, Smithtown, St. James, Stony Brook, and E. Setauket.

We ended up buying in E. Setauket.
