Utilities???
Does $300 sound too low for gas and electric on an average? The sellers told me they pay on an average $300 for gas and LIPA and they have 2 kids. I don't think they are on the balanced billing plan.

I pay $180/month for oil and service contract (haven't gotten our electric bill yet). I would suggest you contact LIPA/KeySpan and do the monthly payment, so you'll have payment balanced out each month without surprises.

that sounds about right - our first gas bill was $317 , but it was estimated, and it really should have been about $225 - and our LIPA (again estimated) was $197 and should have been about $75...

We pay about $300-$350 / month for gas & electric. We have no kids yet and are not on balanced billing.
