OK, I never went untril I was 16, 36 now and have been aboya dozen times. One fo these times was to get married. Yup, got married in WDW, not because I am a disney freak, I love the atmosphere. The real driving force behind a WDW wedding ( initailly) was "who the hell would come all the way there??? It's perfect!!!"
38 people at my wedding, I can name 'em all and loved all but 1 ( someone's ex fiance) And yup, perfect.

i think it is almost embarrasing how adults love disney so much. and i may get totally flamed for this, but to go there on your honeymoon?????? that is so weird to me. it is totally a childhood-only type thing to me. even my il's who have tons of money and can go anywhere in the world go to disney by themselves ALL the time. I just don't get it.

My SIL has been to Disney every year since she was born...usually more then twice a year...she dragged my brother to Disney every year they have known each other
Now my niece and nephew go every year...they don't vacation anywhere else
Just don't get it

not flaming, but we did go on our hm. and it was so much fun. we went about 6 years ago and had a great time and said when we get married, we'll come here for our honeymoon. never wanted to go anywhere else. yes we want to travel and whathaveyou, but we knew that we'd have fun in disney and we did.

It's such a magical fairy tale place, it's SO much fun. IDEAL for a honeymoon. What I don't get it sitting on a beach for 10 days!

Everyone likes diff things. I would rather go to some bed and breakfast in New England than to Disney. Too many lines, too many people. I guess that's another thing that bothers me....all the chaos there, it's just not relaxing for me.

When I went to Disney five years ago, we spent about 1K per person to stay at a New Orleans type of hotel in Orlando, entrance to the parks for three days, and it was a vacation for 5 days.
I stayed in the Dominican Republic for 7 nights, all incluse w/air for $700....
Disney is SUPER expensive for NOT leaving the country.

i agree.
its our mini vacation every year b/c its what DH looks forward to. But, we also go on another one to somewhere new each year... there's so many places in the world that we want to see, so its a compromise between me and DH. If it was the ONLY vacation that we could take each year then No, i wouldn't go.
But, there's also a huge difference between the cost of a few days there vs. the cost of a trip to europe.

I don't really understand it either - but there are a lot of obsessions that I don't understand (like men watching other men in tight clothing throw an odd shaped ball around and pile ontop of each other  )
I do think that WDW has come along way since I have been there in the early 80s. I think I might enjoy the hotels (like the polynesian?), but I have not been there since I was a kid and the next time I will go will be when my kids get older.
adults in disney clothing - a little strange!

I don't like disney characters, but I have been to disney world,
I have however an unhealthy obsession with Hello Kitty (which has waned considerably) and I have made the pilgrimage to her homeland, Sanrio Puroland....and I would go back again.
