Even Though Most of Us Are Not Preggo As Yet..
do you know which hospital you would like to give birth?
For me, even though I am living on LI I would want to give birth at Maimonides Hospital in Borough Park, Brooklyn because my mom friend is the head for the L&D dept (she is a midwife) and I know she will be the one to deliver me.

I chose my doctor according to affiliated hospital....so God willing...I will be giving birth at Winthrop

Chances are my husbands uncle will know someone in Brooklyn as well. He is doctor (in brooklyn) and will most likely send us to someone he knows...I just don't know how that would work though if you are in labor and have to drive that distance..I am so clueless to this stuff..

Oh, that's good. I guess if I decide to go that route, I would have to do some preplanning..

Our children will be born at LIJ. We live very close and Schneiders is there in case we need the services it provides.

Not sure yet, my OBGYN doesn't deliver so I am working on going to another who does and whatever hospital she is affiliated it is where I plan on delivering.

That is a beautiful hospital. They are still working on the lobby and it looks awesome. I was just there before the holidays. My aunt had a brain tumor removed there

I love the idea of the hospital being so close to where we live. I find it amazing that when my mother went into labor with me, my parents lived in Roslyn Heights. My father had to come home from work in Brooklyn, pick her up and go to Beth Israel in Manhattan. How the EFF did she hold me in up there?

When my mom was pregnant with my sister she lived in Brooklyn and her OB/GYN was in Bayonne, NJ which is where my sister was born. She switched OB's to the one that delievered me (I'm her first) in NJ after having a stillborn the year before my sister was born and using an OB in BKLYN so basically she traveled back and forth from Bklyn to NJ for each dr's visit and to give birth.

i think my doc is affiliated with Long Island Jewish or North Shore.
Either would be fine with me.

My Dr. is affiliated with Stony Brook Hospital. The only time I was ever hospitalized before was at Stony Brook. I am comfortable going back there.
