Update on our inspection!!
Ok, thanks to Colleen we had our inspection tonight and everything seemed good. Now our attorney and their's is waiting for the report (due to be written up by Thursday) and then contracts will begin. The seller's wanted a closing date of 2/15/07 which means we'll pay penalties to withdraw the money from our CD like 2 weeks early, but then we can apply for star sooner.
FINGERS CROSSED STILL. Thanks for all the good wishes ladies, we are almost there!!

What wonderful news, Kerry!!! Is there any way, a family member could lend you the money for the amt. in your CD, so you don't have to incur penalties, and could pay whoever back as soon as the CD is available?

we'll see, I called the bank and the penalty will be around $900, yes its a lot, but the STAR discount and my DH being a VET (which is a larger STAR discount) would be more than the $900.
They are trying to get contracts out next week so I'll have piece of mind once they are signed.

Even when the contracts are signed, you'll still feel anxious/stressed. We put in for an expediated title search 2 weeks ago, and nothing has been done and we're supposed to close in 3 weeks, so a whole new stress game is starting.

if you need a title done, I do know somebody. My friends father does them and after closing gives back all the comission to you. Of course, any savings were using! hehe
