Re: What was your time frame for a house???
Started looking in summer 2005, but didn't have a deadline to buy. Found our house Dec 2005, went to contract in Feb 2006, closed in April 2006.
They say prices drop in the winter time, along with housing prices otherwise falling, now is a great time to buy. Be selective and wait for your house if you can! Good luck

We started looking in the end of October '06 and went into full force in Nov. and Dec. and we found our dream home in Mid-Dec. '06 and we're in contract to close at the end of Jan.

Re: What was your time frame for a house???
Umm We were looking online and narrowing things down for a few months and then we found something we liked, went to see it and that was that. We did look at a few other houses but we had a VERY limited budget and when we found this house we had to have it.

Re: What was your time frame for a house???
I started looking at MLSLI way before we were ready to buy, but we seriously began to look in Jan-Feb of 2005; we closed in July 2005.

Re: What was your time frame for a house???
We started looking in October. We had placed offers on 2 houses and they were accepted.
We decided not to proceed with the first house after the inspection because there were too many "potential" problems that we were not willing to deal with.
We backed out fo the second house because the sellers kept lying to us about COs. In the end they could not get permits for 2 things and were going to have to rip them out and they were deal breakers for us.
We are going to look at 6 houses next Saturday and I have high hopes for 3 of them......I expect to be in a new house come summer time or sooner

Re: What was your time frame for a house???
We started looking in April 2006 but didn't have much of a deadline. Then we got really serious in October 2006. We went into contract Nov 06 and we are going to close in March 2007. But that is because we are stuck in our lease in our apartment until April 07
