Anyone go to Harrows this weekend?
Everything was just overpriced as usual. I got an angel for my tree but it was not as big as I would have liked it. I didn't feel like running around looking for one so I just bought it.

All of the Harrow's are going out of business. We were just there today- I said to Vinny "Wow, I'm surprised they are going out of business with this great selection and even better prices" lol- it was pretty bad but we did get a tree on a very good deal- I priced it around and they did have the best price on this particular tree that we wanted. It's pre-lit and VERY full. It's our first X-mas tree We picked it up today and we got some ornaments for it- The sales on everything else were not that good. I would hold out- I think they are going to reduce them again as X-mas gets closer and they are closing for good on 12/31 so right after X-mas they will be practically giving the stuff away.

That would be nice but I doubt it. They will probably just sell the stuff to other manufacturers. Their prices have never been low. I only have bought a few things for xmas there through the years. We did buy our tree last year and it was alot of money but I didn't feel like shopping around and wanted a full tree.

We went there today- and saw that people were parking in the grass- since there was no spaces.... it was chaotic- so we just left...
Im glad we did - considering that it was really only 20% off

Some tree skirts were $80 with 20% off!! That is ridiculous.

We went to the one on 110 and I felt like they jacked up the prices to just take 20% off and I thought it was a mess. I really didn't need anything since I went the day after christmas to fortunoff's and target and got great deals but DH wanted to look. We actaully got a HUGH blow up lawn thing that has 3 boxes and out of the boxes has 2 penguins that pop up from Home Depot for $90 which I thought was a great price for the size.

Just came back from there a little while ago and we were not pleased at all with the sales they had going on. I think you honestly do better in Walmarts/Targets and places like this. Even the ornaments weren't that nice. I wasn't happy there!!!

we went today and what a joke! everything was overpriced and everyone was walking out empty handed.
we bought the floor model of a tree last year--so it came stocked with ornaments and everything! we put it up yesterday. we bought a few replacement items that there were only 1-2 left of in the store, just in case ours get ruined over the years. we figured that's the only things that we can't replace anywhere else.
but i'm holding out for better sales!

they did file for chapter 11 (Newsday article ), but that doesn't necessarily mean they're closing for good.
