We both work the same 'shift' and we have DD in daycare. It really works out well for us.

I work full time from home so I take care of DD full time. Dh works full time outside the home.

Re: for those of you that work full time and dh works full time

Our situation sucks right now. I work from usually 8:30 to 5:30, but DH works from 6pm to 2am. We never see each other. And we have a nanny in our home to take care of DS. Hopefully DHs hours will change in January and make it a little easier.

DH and I leave the house together at 7a.m. I get home at 5, DH gets home at around 7. We have a nanny in our house who arrives at 7 and leaves at 5. She is an amazing person and it is an excellent arrangement!

I leave the house by 7am and I am home around 4ish. My husband leave around 12:30pm and gets home around 11:15. Two-three days a week my Mom come around noon and watches her until I get home. The other 2-3 days a week she goes to daycare.

The arrangement with my husband and I has always been like this, and it SUXS big time. If I have had a long day or am not feeling well I have no support or anyone to hand her off to. It's really not fun like that especially during witching hoursChat Icon

Re: for those of you that work full time and dh works full time

Both of us work full time but we work different shifts. I work 9-5 and DH works midnight - 8 am but when he comes home he has to sleep. My mom was suppose to watch Michael but as you all remember she passed away 8 months ago so my best frien watches him. She comes to pick him up at 7 am and then DH picks him up from her house after he gets up from sleeping which is between 3-4. The good thing about DH having the midnight shift is that at least we eat dinner together.

Re: for those of you that work full time and dh works full time

Alex wakes at 6:30am - I wake up with her, give her a bottle and put her in her rocking chair to watch one of her videos while I shower. In the meantime, Dh gets up and gets together her lunch for the day and feeds her breakfast. When I get out of the shower, I take her to daycare, usually around 7:30am. I usually get home at 5pm, and so does Dh, so either one of us picks her up... it works for now. The only problem is when she's sick

DH and I both work full time. I usually drop Roman off at 8am at daycare and pick him up around 5pm. DH leaves around 9:30 and gets home after 8pm. It stinks big time, I am left to do most of the work which is why we're looking for a Mother's Helper.

Oy, I went back to work this week and as soon as I did that, DH was told there was no work for him for a few days (construction). Which is bad for us financially, but worked out as well since Liam got a 102 fever Monday, so DH stayed home w/ him yesterday. Otherwise we'd both be working f/t and Liam is enrolled in daycare from 6:30am to 6pm. I hate having Liam in there for so long but nothing I can do right now about it. Some days he will get out earlier if DH gets out of work earlier. As for mornings and nighttime,
I figure I get up at 5am, get ready by 5:15, 5:20am. Get Liam up, clothed, fed and out the door by 6:10am. May not really work and we have no idea if it will since on Monday DH didn't have to to in that early to work so Liam was able to sleep in, and then he got the fever so he was home Tues and yesterday and today DH was off so again didn't have to get up that early.
I may have to have DH get him up at 5am and start to feed him and I take over when I am ready and dressed. All I can say is I have to be on the train at 7:12am which means I have to be leaving daycare to get to the train by 6:45 the latest.

At night he will get a bottle about 7pm, followed by a bath, a bit of playtime and then a story and then bedtime will be about 8pm or 8:30pm. I wish I could get him in earlier but I won't get home until 6:30pm most nights anyway so it's really impossible for me to get him in any earlier.

Sigh. I desperately need a job closer to home!

Here is the deal. I wake up first and pump. Depending on when DD wakes up, I shower and get myself ready, or I play with her until 8. DH gets up at 8 and takes DD, dresses her, plays with her while I get shower and dressed. At 8:30 I nurse her and then I go to work. DH takes her to daycare.

I pretty much am a single parent at nigh since DH gets home after she is asleep most of the time. I pick her up from daycare, play with her, feed her, bathe her, play with her some more, read to her, feed her and put her to bed.

I go back to work after Thanksgiving. I work days. DH works some days and some nights. The days he isn't home during the week to watch the baby, my sister will be watching the baby some days, his mother some days, and my mother some days until she goes to FL. We know how lucky we are.

I work days, while he watches Ava, and he works nights while I watch her. We only see each other on the weekends, but it's worth it to know that she's always with one of us. It's hard, but just one sacrifice we make.

We work full-time - right now different hours. Both of our children are in daycare, kindergarten/SCOPE and a kindergarten enrichment program.
