i wish people would mind their own business. not everyone wants to bring children into this overpopulated world we live in.
is it better to have people who dont want kids have them just because everyone is doing it ??? so what the kids can be ignored or resented?
give me a break.
when people ask me that to many times i tell them i had a historectomy and that shuts them up. some people are just busybodies have to be in everyone else's lives because they dont have one of their own.
tell them if they like kids so much they should go have some more that will make up for you not having any. LOL

Amen to that.

It's tough when the one who harps on it the most is your MIL. My DH is an only child, so no grandchildren for them.

I see her point, I really do. And it makes me feel bad sometimes, because my FIL would be a great grandpa and all our nieces and nephews love him.

She hadn't said anything about it in a year or so but then we visited them after we got back from our honeymoon. She pulled me aside, out of earshot of my FIL and DH and said "Since you're married now, you're going to consider children, yes?"

I told her in no uncertain terms that the marriage changes none of our life decisions. And that no amount of complaining from anyone is going to change that. That we're not having children just because other people think we should.

I made total sense right? She heard none of it. Everything I said was responded to with whining, "But whyyyYYYyyyyyy!"

DH and I agreed, he's laying down the law the next time it's brought up and telling her we are never speaking about it again. Period.

I think it's great when a couple knows that they don't want kids, better than having kids and then resenting them. I know plenty of women who shouldn't be Moms, I wish they made the educated decision most of you have in deciding NOT to have kids. I applaud you

I am an only child as well, and I'm sure my mom is disappointed that she will not have any grandchildren. But she understands that it is my and my husband's decision. And she understands the reasons why we have chosen not to have kids.

I don't know about "ever" - but we're definitely no where NEAR ready for that now!

i dont see myself with children right now or anythime "soon"

in a few years when I am ready, then we will have them. but we have many things to accomplish before that.
