They said on the news earlier that he had atleast 21 drinks before getting behind the wheel. I dont know where they got that info from but just that fact alone makes it murder in my mind!

well i am not sure if they can estimate exactly how many drinks he has per say

but i guess they can have an educated guess by how high his BAC was

I saw the video footage that they showed on News 12. The worst part was the very end, where you could hear the metal crushing and the muffled sounds of voices. Uggh, so sickening.

The video and the sounds on it is awful. When you hear the impact of when his truck hits the car, there is no doubt in my mind that he was going fast. In either case, he still killed 2 people and should suffer severe consequences.

it looks like the limo driver tried to avoid him, but it looks like it all happaned to fast. The pickup was definitly headed for the limo.

Right but some drinks have higher alcohol content... but to say that someone had a BAC high enough to equate that to 21 drinks in itself is mindblowing! The whole thing is sickening!

Is the video being shown to the jury? I'm kind of surprised the judge would let it be shown. The defense could have a good argument that the video is highly prejudicial.

ETA: They just showed the footage on Fox 5 News. I thought the video actually showed the victims dying, which could've been considered prejudicial. I didn't realize the camera faced out onto the road and showed the other driver hit the limo. I hope this evidence helps the prosecution.

I don't understand that video. The limo was in the left lane, and it appears the pickup was in the middle lane. But the limo drifts over the line into the path of the pickup. Doesn't it?

That's a pretty powerful thing to show the jury immediately before the prosecution rests.

What a horrible horrible thing.

wow - I'm glad I didn't see this video!

Does anyone know where he was drinking earlier? Doesn't that put some responsibility (at least in a civil sense) onto the alcohol server (i.e. bartender/host?)

Although I understand why any vehicle that requires a CDL or a TLC license would also require a video camera on board, what I do not get is the release of that video to the news. It is one thing to use it in court, and an entirely different thing to use it for ratings.
