Remember the days of living home and working part-time or not at all while going to school and having all the time in the world to prep for a big date and/or a big night out on the town. Well, it’s likely that now things are quite different, with most of us barely having enough time to comb our hair or change our clothes before stepping out with our mate or family for “date night”.

But, just like setting special time aside for family dinners and outings for just the two of you, experts note adding that element of surprise and sexiness is essential for keeping things fun, exciting and sexy for both of you.

They note that prepping for night out can help you feel better about you, and help your mate see you in a whole new light too.

· Experts suggest planning your outing or date night a few days, if not a week before, and that means thinking about and picking out what time the “adventure” will begin, where you’ll be going, and how you want to look, including picking out an outfit a day or two before.

· While a fresh face is preferable after a long hard day at work or with the kids, understated elegance is best, especially if you’re in a “rush”. Remember to keep it as close to your “natural”, everyday look as possible. For a quick touch up think brown or black liner to highlight the outer corners of your eyes, smearing it with your finger for an elegant evening look. Try eye shadow preferably in glimmery neutral shades including copper and gold in the crease of your lid for and instant lift and a hint of tinted gloss and powder of your T-zone.

· A fresh do is a definite must “do”, just remember not to pick a style that means you’ll need to start styling you hair from scratch, especially if you’re only going to dinner and a movie. Remember, the key is to keep it simple, sexy, soft and touchable.

· Pick you clothes according to the place. If you’re going somewhere casual, slip into something comfortable but classy such as a nice pair of jeans and a sweater with boots or some low heels or flats that will make it easy to walk around in. Choose shoes and accessories that accentuate your personality.

For a more formal out, consider a bold business look, including replacing you corporate blouse with a cami, bustier or just a bra and vest under your (suit) jacket. However, if it’s a corporate event be sure to keep it a little more on the classy side, exchanging a pin stripped shirt for a silk blouse, but nothing too raunchy or revealing. Think pants or skirt with a simple turtleneck and a bold oversized bet and some sophisticated and timeless accessories.

The bottom line is looking naturally beautiful without looking like it took you hours to get that way.
