One of the first signs of fall (which is also one of my favorites) is the introduction of pumpkin flavored everything; lattes, coffee, muffins, cream cheese.everything! One of these festival fall favorites that many fellow fall lovers wait for every year is the coveted "Pumpkin-Spice Latte," available at a couple, relatively expensive chain coffee shops at an upwards of five bucks a pop, depending on size (and, let's face it, we often go for a larger size knowing that we'll only splurge on the expensive treat occasionally). Well, save yourself a little money and enjoy your fall-time favorite whenever the mood strikes you!

Start by brewing your favorite, strong coffee. If you have an espresso maker even better, but if you don't a bold coffee will be perfect.

Next, you'll need to make your "pumpkin milk!" Start with your ingredients of:

-1 cup of milk - any of your choice, whether almond, soy, ½ and ½, or plain.
-¼ cup of pumpkin puree, a little more if you really love it pumpkiny!
-2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice blend
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-Sweetener of choice to your taste.

Mix these ingredients together, either by hand or in a blender, until smooth and frothy. Pop the mixture into the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes to warm it up.
Pour one cup of your coffee into a mug then pour half of your pumpkin milk on top. Top with a little whipped cream and a dash of nutmeg and voila!

Save the other half of your pumpkin milk for either a refill or a special friend that you're willing to share with. Then enjoy your latte, feeling like a barista and letting the coffee shop keep their expensive take.
