Guys are great, but for some, when it comes there is only “one” maybe two other “looks” or outfits other than work attire, and usually they consist of jeans or shorts and a t-shirt.

But, those who are at home with mom or married, know that there an “appropriate” outfit for almost every occasion, some even calling for NOT being seen wearing the same thing twice (at least not twice in a row).

Now experts weight in on some “fashion” advice for the guy who wants to get (back) into shape but may feel he has nothing to wear.

1. Back To Basics: It’s been a while since you hit the gym, or have engaged in much exercise at all other than bicep curls with a brew or flexing your finger muscles by changing the channel with the remote.

Consider sporting a fun but funky pair of swim trunks and a t-shirt featuring you favorite (non-offensive) logo to make you feel young and pumped before you can actually commit to pumping some serious iron, even if you starting out with your old dumbbells and in the privacy of your own basement.

2. Gym Dandy: Even if you not the average gym rat, but you go a few times a week, you’ll want to build up your workout wardrobe as well as your muscles. Think about throwing on a t-shirt from times gone by when weight and staying fit and trim was almost effortless and pair it up with some “grown up” athletic shorts and some comfy and trusty tube socks. And, if you find your becoming a fitness enthusiast, you may want to splurge on some cross trainers.

3. You’re a Fitness Powerhouse: You’re one of those guys that keeps feeling and looking good by watching what you eat and staying in shape. Chances are you’re also at the gym more than three days a week and that heading to the beach means, biking or jogging along the boardwalk, or engaging in a volleyball tournament, and NOT lounging in the sand. Look for a pair of comfortable running shorts that offer you room to move and groove, but that comfortably covers the essentials. Pair it up with a sleeveless tee in a high-tech fabric that soaks up sweat but that is flexible and offers you freedom of movement. Opt for minimum sock coverage and highly functional running shoes for all that outdoor activity to ensure you have stable footing.
