Some positivity

I think we need to some positive thoughts. Maybe it's something you have had time to finally do since this whole crazy mess, maybe it's a new hobby you discovered, or a new recipe. Let's try to see some good in this strange time.

For me, I am enjoying the time DH and I have together now. We usually work opposite schedules. I'm now working from home, and he is on a reduced schedule. We take a walk every day together (even in crappy weather). It's something we never had time to do before.

I also have done about 6 jigsaw puzzles, read a bunch of books and took up playing the piano again. All things I never seem to have the time to do in "real life."

Let's hear what everyone else is doing.

Same!

No. I have one. I have found I have a great ability. I can call every state / county / town executive where I live and work all day everyday and actually get results. I’ve never once called for a thing and now I’ve been putting them to work. Positive? Maybe

Zoom workouts with my extended family. Which is really funny because we all live in different states (West coast, down south), so it’s not like we see each other anyway. Chat Icon

I've definitely been working out more.

And have gotten a few projects done around the house/yard that I probably wouldn't have had (made) time for, before

Absolutely a positive!! It's about time we all make politicians remember that they work for US!

Love this. I've definitely been "seeing" my out of state family much more during this time. We have an extended family zoom call every Sunday!

Re: Some positivity

normally, i don't see my son as much as i want... we no longer live in the same house and we work (in the same building, but...) opposite hours. because i'm having to work 6 days a week, i get to see him on my 6th day. it's not as much as a mother's heart would want, but i'll take it!!

since the summer, when my shoulder started to give me trouble, i started to feel sorry for myself and let my weight creep back up. since spending so much more time at home, i am now paying closer attention to my general health and i've re-lost about 7 pounds. 13 to go.

finally, since physical therapy helped my shoulder so much... i'm back to knitting. i've completed 5 small projects and i'm working on my 6th.

Re: Some positivity

I've gotten some cleaning done and I did all my mulch and spring plantings myself which saved me about $800!

Also, for the most part my girls are getting along better with one another just because they only have each other to play with.

And my husband is getting to spend a lot of time golfing now with my son.

I still get to take walks with friends and have happy hours with my neighbors so that helps.

Honestly at times I am totally okay with all of this but at other times I feel like I am on the verge of a breakdown. The warm weather has definitely helped a lot but honestly all the kids in my town have given up socially distancing. It's only a matter of time before the adults do.

Same here... I do 3 workouts a day. I don't feel I haven't lost weight because lately I've been eating much more, but my mood is better after every work out. And I'm doing Zumba which I love and I don't get to do at my regular gym.

I've been working out twice a day which I was never able to do before.

We've gotten a lot of projects around the house done.

I don't feel as stressed with the constant rush of daily life.

Re: Some positivity

I've been maxing out my 3D printer. I've been printing ear saver bands and face shield frames for a few weeks now. I've printed and donated about 2100 ear savers, and 200 face shield frames. A lot of gone to friends and family, and their coworkers. Most have gone to a group I joined that is full of makers that make and donate ear savers, face shields, masks, gowns, and other odds and ends. We have other people who take all of the items and distribute them to essential works around the island.

Some positivity

I did some painting (to my husband's dismay) around the house. Started exercising. Got some daily living goals mastered with one of my special needs daughters. I want to do a bunch of planting but i'm too cold to do it lol. And probably the most positive thing is that I don't have to get up at 5:30 am to get my kids ready for school. I'm feeling much more refreshed!

Re: Some positivity

I love all of these responses. Truthfully, I've been having a rough week, and this afternoon I decided to start thinking of some good things that came out of this mess.

it's helped me tremendously and I must remember to focus on positive rather than negative every day.

Another positive: I haven't set my alarm clock since March 19! My natural wakeup time is around 7 am but I force myself to get up at 5:30 - 6 to get ready for work. Now that my commute is less than 5 seconds, I "sleep in" and get up whenever I want - which is by 7:30 every morning, but it feels like such a treat!

Yes! This is the only good thing to me....not being woken by an alarm, sleeping until 8 am, and staying up late at night watching my own shows in peace.
I'm a night person naturally

Re: Some positivity

Funny because I made a list like this a few weeks ago trying to cheer myself up.

Definitely getting outside more and enjoying the sun.

Walking a LOT and losing a tiny bit of weight.

Great thread.

Started getting back into yoga. I'm on day 13 of 30 days. And it feels great. I would like to stick with it daily once this is all over and I'm hoping this will make it a habit.

I've been volunteering more since I have the time. Delivering meals to homebound seniors. And also serving breakfast or dinner at the Bowery.

And I started fostering a cat that I'm pretty sure will.be a foster failChat Icon

I have been bike riding which I have not done in years.

I work out almost every single day.

I have been to parks which I haven't been to in years. And I don't know why because they are really nice.

I have been cooking some nice meals.

We got some things done around the house but I still have a to do list. I feel less stressed about it though.

I did a puzzle.

I think I'm going to start reading again too.

I have been watching live sales on FB for cute boutiques and buying clothes from local people which I love.

I do NOT miss my morning craziness getting my 3 boys off to 3 different places and me off to work. Not one bit.
