When do your kids get their teachers?
We don't get them till the Friday before Labor Day weekend and it's at 4PM. LOL! They make sure the school is closed so no one can call and complain.
My boys are going into 3rd and 1st.
I'm not in a rush at all, but once camp is over we start thinking about school.

The week before school starts.
It doesn't faze me at all because I don't know who any of the teachers are for the next grade so to me, they are all the same

Kids go back Sept. 6 and they'll find out their teachers on Aug. 29.

I am a teacher and I don't find out my schedule until late (like week or 2 before school starts). It's a bit ridiculous!

When do your kids get their teachers?
MY kids go back 9/6 and we found out my twins teachers yesterday. My youngest is going into kindergarten and we find out next week.

But if you think about it, does it really matter?
I mean you can't change the teacher.
So if you find out now, or in July or on the day before school that your child has Mrs. Jones, what difference does it really make?

When do your kids get their teachers?
My one found out yesterday and I am still waiting for the other to find out. I don't really care who the teachers are, I am more concerned with the list of items they request, that I need to get.

My one found out yesterday and I am still waiting for the other to find out. I don't really care who the teachers are, I am more concerned with the list of items they request, that I need to get.
See in our school all the 2nd graders have the same supply list, all the first, etc.
So we can download the list at the end of June and shop early before even finding out the teacher.
I like that better

Playdates? My younger daughter is starting kindergarten and I would love to set up playdates with her classmates so they walk into familiar faces.

I wouldn't know enough about any given teacher to even complain. I don't even know the names of the 3 second grade teachers my daughter can get.

I like knowing early. I like finding out the last day because we still see a lot of people (people we may not have numbers for) and can see who is in each child's class.
People in my district don't like it because most people pick up on the last day and it's a bit crazy... There were a lot of tears this year as well when children were separated from their friends and didn't get the teachers they wanted.

Yup! I heard this year we are supposed to get the assignments today, so that district office is closed when parents try to call to complain (they are closed on Fridays). So they will just have to let their anger fester all weekend LOL

It's less about the actual teacher than just having time to process all of the information. What does matter to me is the busing information... its is important to me to make childcare plans. I am going back to work this year and I have no idea how to schedule everything if they give us zero details like when she might need to leave the house and when she will be arriving. How can we coordinate our schedules or line up appropriate care in time if we don't get the bus schedule until the day before school?!?! This has been insane to me. Plus each teacher is going to ask for "Additional supplies" and I would like to know what that is going to be so I could have gotten that with the rest of the supplies the whole grade asked for. This may not matter to some people but all of this stuff is stressful for me.

LOL. Anger fester! 
People would complain in heaven.
In the scheme of life, does your child's second grade teacher really matter ? I mean how bad can the teacher be honestly?
They aren't doing their masters dissertation with this person.
I love what people worry and get upset and angry about.
Life is too short.

In our school - none of the teachers ask for supplies above and beyond what is on the grade specific list.
We also haven't gotten our bus schedules yet but, we can look up start times and estimate when they will be coming home/getting picked up.

Busing info I can see needing to know early. Our bus stop is the same every year and school starts and ends at the same time so we already know all that.
That would be stressful to not know if you need to make plans, absolutely

I'm OOS, but we get teacher assignments 1 month before school starts and bus assignments 2 weeks before school. We also don't have to supply anything for school except maybe an art smock. Our district supplies everything else.

I spoke to a teacher in my district and she said it's really not as much that parents complain about what teacher their child gets but more that they complain about certain children that are in the same class as their child.
