super sore throat
Any tips on how to make my throat feel better til I can get to the doctor tomorrow?
It started with a hoarse voice on friday, then a small but annoying dry cough and now a super sore throat..it hurts to swallow and coughing is giving me a headache
I never get sick-maybe like every other year or so, so short of going to the doctor when they open tomorow, any tips?

It night be the weather/allergens because of the rain. Mine is bad too and it also started Thursday/Friday. Try tea with honey or gargling warm salt water...if all else fails, suck on losanges like halls nonstop. Feel better!

Gargle with sea salt and warm water. If you can run out get some Throat Coat tea and raw honey. Soo good for your throat and the raw honey is a great antiseptic. Feel better

To be honest, the best cure for a sore throat is a few advil or motrin. Anti inflamatory and pain killer. Works great. Also, ice cream or anything cold. And Halls cough drops. I get a lot of sore throats and these are my go tos!

Thanks! the salted water helped a little bit, as well as 2 advils. I am drinking water becasue it is cool and soothing, but I just hope I can sleep through the night witht eh coughing, which irritates the throat:(

Take a tablespoon of honey, squeeze some lemon on top and mix with 1/2 tsp of cinnamon.

You sound like me when I get strep throat. I alternate advil with tylenol and drink tea with honey and lemon. Hope you feel better soon!

I swear by Throat Coat tea. I have tonsilitis or strep at least twice a year and this is the only thing that helps. They sell it in the healthy part of Stop and Shop as well as Target.

This!
Im just getting over my sore throat that I had for 1 week. The stuff that worked for me were lots of tea. Halls during the day, and ibuprofen (Advil) at night. Some nights I took nyquil for the dry cough but I had to cut it to half a dose bc it was making me too groggy the next day.
Advil worked the best to alleviate the swelling.

Since it started with a dy cough, it sounds like it was cause, at least initially by a post nasal drip. Take some Benadryl or other anti-histamine to stop the drip. Take some tylenol or advil for the pain. Do a sinus rinse, drink lots of fluids. Honey is soothing and an antiseptic
