If you read my original post you'd see that my son asked 2 girls for a play date. One said yes and one dad told his daughter no without a reason. I didn't think it was a big deal to ask for a play date and didn't know if other dads have issues with it.
Maybe the child doesn't like your child, the parents don't like you, or they just don't do playdates. Maybe it's because he's a boy. Maybe not. Most of the posters on here are women though, so there isn't much of a "dad perspective".

I'm not upset they said no and I don't really care what the reason is. I was just curious if parents of girls cared if they played with boys once they get into elementary school (I only have 1 son so I don't know how parents feel about their daughters).

It would be fine with me.
In fact, my first playdate ever  as a kindergarten kid was with a boy.

DS' very good friend is a girl. they have playdates all the time (she loves sports and video games)

My 8 year old is friends with boys and girls. I work from home and when they are off from school I often invite a kid to hang out at our house for the day if I have to get work done and need her to have a friend instead of asking me to play all day. Usually it's this one boy-they get along well, behave well, take turns picking what to do, etc etc etc
