Working Moms: What are your hours?

I am supposed to go back to work on March 10 Chat Icon and my schedule will be 9-3:40. I will most likely have to leave the house around 7:45 and will get home around 4:30. I am just curious how much other working Moms are away from their DCs all day. To me, this schedule sounds like an eternity!

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

I leave the house around 6:15am and get to work around 6:45am.

I can leave, technically, at 3pm, but I often work later to build up credit hours to use for doctor appointments, days off, etc.

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

Mine suck. I am usually with Ryan til 8:15/8:30AM and don't get home til 7/7:30PM. DH picks up Ryan around 4:30PM though.

I usually don't get to work until about 9:45AM, and I aim to leave between 5:45-6:15PM.

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

Right now I am working 7am-6pm. We are super busy and I am the only one in my dept so it's up to me to do what I need to do to get the work done. Today I'll probably be working until 8pm. Chat Icon

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

I work an hour away from home. So I drp DS off at daycare at 8am and get to work by 9am. My job is technically 9-5 but crisis often happens (usually at 4:30....) and I have to stay a little late. Usually I'm home between 6:15 and 6:30.

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

i work 3 days a week, we also leave the house b/t 7:45-8 (me and my DH take turns bringing my DS to daycare 1 day and my SIL's 2 days) and i get out b/t 2:30-3 so by the time i get my DS and get home it is usually around 4-4:15. It's def hard in the beginning but gets easier as they get older and more into a routine with their caregiver. Also, b/c i have family watching him 2 of the days, it made/makes it a little easier. and he naps 2-3 hours, so that's time that i wouldn't get to spend with him anyway. and the day he's at daycare i try to look at as good socialization for him. It does seem like an eternity during the day, but then before you know it, your getting your DC and nothing makes my day more then when my DS sees me and screams, mommy and runs with big hugs and kisses b/c he missed me so muchChat Icon

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

I get to work between 9:30am and 10am. I leave around 5:30-6:15pm depending on when DH picks me up.

If I need to leave earlier or come in late, I can do it when I need to. I have a laptop so I can do work at home.

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

My hours are supposed to be 9-6.. but they are usually more like 7-7. When Rob (hopefully soon) gets a job, I will need to modify my hours a bit to accomodate their bus and after care schedules.

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

I work four 10 hour days... so I work 7:00am-5:30pm. The good thing is I only have a 5-10 min. commute.

I work outside the home Mon - Thurs, 8-4. I usually get to my office about 7:30 so I can get some extra work done and not have to stay late or come home with work.

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

I work Mon-Fri from 3:25pm until Midnight. I leave the house at 2pm and get home at around 1am. I get up with DD around 6:30-7:30am so I am home with her in the morning-early afternoon until I have to leave for work. I went back to work on Jan. 12th and let me tell you, it is hard. I am exhausted all the time. Not to mention, I got the flu this past week... I am sure being run down doesn't help!

Re: Working Moms: What are your hours?

My commute is an hour. I leave at 5:45; DH drops DD at daycare any time between 7 and 8, depending on his schedule. I pick DD up between 4 and 4:30.

My actual hours are 8:00-3:10. But I'm a teacher and parking is scarce so I get there before 7. I am grateful that DH and I both have the summer off to spend with DD.

My hours aren't fixed. In terms of time with DS, some weeks are better than others.
