state farm for HO. Allstate for auto.
I like state farm in AZ but don't like them in NY. I have both of my properties with State Farm.
I always wonder if I could do better.
If anyone wants to recommend someone for HO, please forward their info.

I had a lot of trouble finding a company to insure me. I finally found State Farm. I was told that most companies don't want to insure Long Island bc of the threat of a major hurricane and/or flooding. I didn't understand bc I currently don't live in a flood zone.

Right now Allstate.
But after the quote I got for the new house, we may be switching.
I need to look into other companies.

State Farm for home, Geico for auto. State Farm has always come in much higher for auto than Geico.

I live in east/suffolk by the water, most homeowner's insurance companies would NOT cover us due to hurricane/threat.

I tried to go with State Farm and they told me they weren't writing new policies on LI, that if I wanted coverage, I had to wait for a policy to open up! We ended up going through a broker and Narraganset (i think that's how you spell it) is ours now.
Not true about State Farm.
Each office is different.
ETA: Also it depends on location for eligibility.

If you don't mind me asking, do you live on LI? We have USAA for auto, but when we bought our house over 7 years ago, USAA told us they don't write homeowners policies on LI. Has that since changed?
