Where do you have your child's car seat?
After I saw the "five point harness" video I have been soo upset. I went out and spent $300 on a carseat that will hold Ava (with harness) till 65 lbs. I had her seat in the middle of the back seat. This carseat is too high. I cannot see over it to back up - at all!! So, I called BRU and the associate in the car seat dept told me it is just as safe on either side- by the door. So, I put it behind the passenger seat. I am know worried about her being next to the door. Am I being ridiculus? It's just that the video really made an impression on me

We have our careats on the passengers side in both cars. Our cars are too small to put it in the middle. Both cars were bought pre-baby.

Ours is in the middle. Everything I read says that is the safest. I had the infant seat on the passenger side for a bit when he was too heavy for me to get him into the middle.

ours is behind the passenger seat. we have an accord and with the seat rear facing the front seat has to be up pretty far. if i put it in the middle i think both seats would have to be pushed up and i could never drive that way. we're also are using the LATCH and you can't use that in the middle, only on either side.

I heard that if you can't put the seat in the middle the driver's side is the safest.

Mine are behind the passenger and driver's seats. Behind the passenger's seat is supposed to be "safer" vs. behind the driver's seat.

I guess all cars are different, I have LATCH in the middle.

The NCPD installed my carseat and they didn't care for the way it installed in the center (wasn't as secure as they'd like) so they put it in the passenger side back seat. They said it should go on the curb side of the car for safe loading and unloading of the baby. You don't want to be taking the baby out on the street side of the car.
