When do you think we will Social Distancing be done
I am hoping for June too
I see my older mailman still delivering email
A grocery worker dies In my area .
Poor doctors and nurses falling sick without PPE
No professsion is special , no one gets very special benefits
Hope schools open In June. Hope people are able to return back to work in June.
My hope and wish that the cases decrease to a large extent.
As hard as it is , if you need to stay home for whatever reason then you individually need to do it.
Yes I am deadly scared of it too, with multiple risk factors , but at this rate I fear for my mental health .

When do you think we will Social Distancing be done
we have eden/dutch wonderland booked memorial weekend but i'm thinking it might not happen. We also have sesame place mother's day brunch booked

The virus will not disappear, and will probably be with us for a very long time maybe even mutate like flus do and we will need a vaccine. However, the new normal will be far different than the normal we remember. There will be tons of restrictions on places that do open and it will be like that till 2021 when a vaccine is developed. Hospitals also have to be preety much ready for the next batch of patients as well till anything opens.
Yes. My husband’s company already said whenever they reopen it will be in waves. There will be limited people in the office for awhile, then let groups come back little by little. They will all not come back at once.

The problem is no one is staying home. I went out yesterday to try to buy lasagna to make for Easter and went to two different grocery stores (both had nothing I could find) but the stores were packed and people were definitely not standing 6 ft away from each other. They’re just going out in masks now, that’s all. So I kind of feel like what’s the point in extending this into the summer if people aren’t going to stay home anyway?

It's hard to compare yesterday's shopping because 1) its a weekend and 2) its Easter weekend.
A lot of people have many family members in one household; so today is I am sure a big cooking day for lots of families.
One supermarket I went to yesterday had not One bulb of garlic. Probably for all the lambs people are cooking today; I dont know?
At least everyone are starting to wear masks now. There are a few stragglers that dont. Even if its some kind of covering; its better than nothing.

Totally agree witg this. The first ones out will be the canaries in the coalmine. I will not necessarily send my kids back to school right away either. Homeschooling is very hard, and nothing I have ever wanted to do, but I just don't trust that people will be responsible with themselves or their kids, and I really think that the later in time one is exposed to the virus, the better off one will be--for so many reasons.
Friends who are recovering from "mild" cases tell me that they would have chosen a year or more in isolation over the excruiating, terrifying ordeals that they went through. I believe them.

I really, really hope this wraps up by the end of May. I know I am in the minority but I really want to see the kids go back to school. Even if it is just for a week. I feel so bad for the seniors graduating and even younger "graduates". They are missing so much and don't get to say a proper goodbye otherwise. And that is said for all the grades too. My kids love their current teachers and what a bummer it is to just have such an abrupt ending.
Also, if schools don't open, will camps? What happens when non-essential workers have to go back to work and there are no child care options? There's so much uncertainty right now.
As far as social distancing itself, I think that people are going to avoid contact and large gatherings for quite some time.
I agree with all this. My kids need to get back to school even if its just for a week to clean out their desks, see friends and their teachers. I feel so bad for the seniors even my students who are graduating pre-k I feel bad for the parents.
I wonder about camps too. My son is signed up for basketball camp and its a small group, only a week will they still have that? We had to reschedule disney for October so Im hoping that will still happen. I really feel for the small businesses and the kids who are in abused homes. We just started homeschooling this week and it has been hard trying to get my kindergartner, first grader and 2nd grader to do work. My husband works in a grocery store and it is so scary because I worry about my kids and my parents. We miss seeing our friends and family. I pray that this is over soon.

I am surprised too. From what I read California had around 600 deaths and we are Waaay beyond. It’s frightening!
I have lots of family in Cali and they started tje "quarantineing" waaayyyyy before we did and that is why their rates are so low. NY should've followed suit. But it seems we never learn.

I believe CA has been way ahead of NY with all of this since the start, they were the first st to enforce closing businesses and enforcing other restrictions.

I was surprised too. We went to see my in-laws and talked to them in their yard from over 6 ft away... But a lot of the people who have been big on complaining about those who aren’t following social distancing correctly totally threw it all to the wind today for Easter.

I don't think we will be back to pre-coronavirus normal until a vaccine is out. But I do not think we will be under such tight restrictions beyond another month or two. The nation won't survive. People have to go to work, children have to go to school, businesses have to reopen- all before 12 months from now, which is when we will probably have a vaccine. I do agree with you though that we will not be 100% back for a very, very long time- 12-18 months.

This is why shit will be closed for another 2+ months. Because people can’t suck it up and deal with not having the “perfect holiday”.
The NYC/LI area alone has almost more cases than any COUNTRY in the world outside of the USA. That’s pathetic and scary.

I don't know of anyone that had get togethers on Easter. No one in my realm of friends shared that on social media. Maybe they did and didn't share, who knows.

I think they say its more than coughing or sneezing. If you breathe near/on someone you can spread little droplets on them. So if you are an asymptomatic carrier and have a close conversation with someone else it could transmit.
