When do you plan to start your maternity leave? Are you taking a few weeks off b4 your due date?

I'm thinking 1-2 weeks prior to my due date. I'd prefer to work until the very end so I can spend more time with the little one but I don't want to go into labor while at work either.

I'm due 2/9, and my last day of work is 1/23. I really wanted a full two weeks before my due date (which I know the baby can come at anytime really!), but now I know I'm only going to have one full week, as I'm scheduled to be induced on 2/1.

I'm taking a full 6 month leave and will go back to work on 7/1

i believe my company policy is that i have to use all personal time before the 'disability' kicks in (but i'm not 100% positive)...

i have a pretty laid back job (sitting at a desk MOST of the time) so i think i would be here for as long as i can.

My job makes us go out two weeks before our due date, paid. I think it has to do with STD, not sure, but my maternity leave doesn't start until the baby is born. So if I am late that is extra paid time for me!

I am taking maternity leave when i go into labor.
no point in staying home with no baby there!

My maternity leave starts 2 weeks before my due date.

I had planned to work up until Christmas, which was my due date. However, I had high BP and severe swelling. My doctor took me out of work and put me on bedrest at 36 weeks. I was induced at 38 weeks b/c of the BP.

I am working until I go into labor or my Dr puts me on rest.

Tomorrow is my last day!!!!!!!! I am 36 weeks today. Seriously, I do not think I have the strength to come back after xmas break! I barely get out of bed now!!! lol

I am due on Wednesday and am still working. I don't get maternity leave so I wanted to work as long as possible and have more time with the baby afterwards.

I am working until my due date or a little later if I'm late. My doctor only lets women go a week to a week and a half late before he induces so I figure it would be nice to have a few days off to relax and take care of myself!

My job is not stressful at all, I pretty much sit the majority of the day, and my DH is going to drop me at work (and I'm delivering where I work) so I don't think there's any point to me going out too early.

I teach, and I'm due 3/6. We have a winter recess around 2/15 for a whole week, so since i have that time off, it looks like I will work the week after it, until 2/27. This will give me the week of the break to do last minute things, and a week before my due date to (hopefully) rest.

I am due 2/14 and have officially started working from home today. I plan to start my mat leave the 2nd or 3rd week of January, depending on how I feel. I have 4 months full paid leave once the baby is born.

As of now, I'm planning to work until I go into labor -
It really will depend on how I'm feeling, what the commute to/from NYC every day is doing to me, etc. - Just play it by ear

well, I have less than 4 weeks and I'm still commuting from LIRR to NYC. I plan on doing this as long as I can. I don't plan on working 5 full days in NYC, I'll work maybe 1-2 days from home. Honestly, its too early for you to decide. Play it by ear.

I planned to work up until my due date (12/23) but these past couple of weeks have been so brutal that I went out on 12/16. I know I lose time with the baby, but I am planning to take an extended leave (until September) and honestly, it was the best decision I made. I am very uncomfortable and it is nice not to have to worry about driving to work and feeling bloated, swollen and crampy all day.

I'm taking 3 weeks before my due date.
I have to have all my paper work in by the beginning of January. SO I had to decide now how long I will take.

I had planned to work until the end but decided at the last minute not to go back after Thanksgiving. So I was out 1 weeks before my due date, but my boss gave me that time off as extra paid time off. It did not reduce the time i was going to have off with the baby. My DS ended up being 3 days late.

I am working up until the week before my due date.. since I am due the Friday of April break... so that gives me a week off... otherwise, I would be working until the baby comes or until the doctor tells me I cant...

Im planning to be here until i give birth, but im also keeping an open mind based on how i feel and progress. If i cant do it any more, and im 38 weeks, then ill stay home

That was my biggest fear that I would be far away from the hospital. I took about 2 weeks prior to my EDD and both my kids were 1 and 2 weeks late. This time I am taking a few days before my EDD, that's it.

I am planning on taking my last week and a half of vac b4 then go straight into leave

I was due 10/31..left work on 10/14...gave birth 10/24.
