I never buy my own bags, DH usually buys them for me. My most expensive is an LV Speedy that he got me for our first Valentine's Day together.

I did buy myself a Coach wristlet from the outlets once, I think it was around $20.

I can't justify spending much on a bag. I beat it up, and it serves nothing more to me then to carry my crap around. I rather have my money spent on something sentimental.

its surprising to hear so many people regretting buying expensive bags. I don't regret buying any of my bags

I love handbags, and usually spend 2-3k on each one, I do have one that was 5k but it was a gift.

I don't even think that is that much, there are so many people I follow on IG and they buy a new bag every week that are between 20k-50k for exotics

Well when you compare it to the people buying themselves $30K-$50K purses every week- it's a mere bag of shells!

SAying you spend thousands on a purse is one thing... saying you spend thousands on a purse on a thread where most people say "I can't afford to spend more than $50" and then following it up with "I don't think that $2-$3k is a lot" is just eh... silly. Yes, silly.

I thought the same thing and I love purses. I can't see blowing a mortgage payment on a bag. No way in hell.

That is a lot more than my mortgage payment! I would NEVER! Nor would I want to. Unless it was also a robot that could cook, clean, and go to work for me!

Lol, I've seen Rich Kids of Instagram too but I don't justify my purchases as inexpensive compared to them.

The most I've spent is just shy of $1000 on an LV (gift from DH) And I've carried it twice. I might sell it to my MIL. I have a Coach bag that was $795 retail - I got it for 40% off when they couldn't repair my diaper bag - that people swoon over. It looks so much more expensive.

I have a $1200 Gucci that I recently bought. However, I sold a crapload of stuff on eBay which helped pay for most of it!!

$1500 is my personal max

but I got a $3k Gucci bag as gift last year-

I am dying for a Chanel...but I am too cheap to spend my money on it- I ask for it as a gift from the Gucci bag buyer :)

Most of my expensive bags, a few LVs included, have been from DH. Most of my nicer bags are now Marc Jacobs (not his high end line), Kate Spade, Tory Burch. My dream bag is the Chanel 2.55. Maybe some day.

Within the last 3 months, I've had my first child and we bought a house. ALL my $$ goes to those two things.

for myself? NEVER - I just can't bring myself to make that large of a purchase, for myself.

Anything extravagent I own has been a gift from my husband. And it's all been stuff I never even knew I wanted until it was there in front of me -

I have to say, I don't EVER think spending money on something you will use and enjoy is wasted money, or ridiculous et etc.
To me, the woman who spent $100 on a bag that she used once and never again wasted $100 - The woman who spent $5k on a bag that she will use and enjoy for years made an investment, and that was money well spent.

People have very different priorities and thoughts about what is important, what makes them happy etc.
