What size newborn/coming home outfit?
I notice some newborn outfits say up to 7lb.
What if the baby is bigger?
What size are you getting?
When did your dr give you an idea of how big they with be?

i have a NB outfit for her which will fit to 7 lbs.
he told me @ growth sono (34 weeks) that he estimates that she will be between 6 to 6.5 lbs.
i am praying that what i have for her will fit her ok, and that it won't be too large.

I am bringing both sizes. My daughter was 7.1 and 19.5inches. I put a 0-3 on her and it was enormous. I got same outfit in NB and 0-3 for her this time around. I'm sure the NB wil fit just fine.

damn. My plan has been foiled.
Maybe I iwll buy both, and have DH wash the appropriate outfit to bring up with him..
hmmm toughy. I think I may just buy a 0-3 month then. Better to be a bit too big.

I just packed 2 outfits: one NB and one 0-3mths. I have several NB outfits from the shower, but chose to wash only one! I told DH we'd just wash the rest when we get home if  is too small for 0-3mths. Otherwise, I have everything ready to be returned!!

My DD was 51bs 12oz...small even thought doc old me she was going to be around 7lbs.
I bought a NB outfit for her but it was TOO big for her that my mom ended up buying her a preemie outfit to come home in.
The 0-7lbs outfits is what she wore for awhile.

My DD was 7 lbs 8 oz and even a newborn outfit was a little big on her. It can totally depend on the outfit/maker, but I would venture to think the newborn size would be appropriate for almost all babies going home. DD wore newborn for the first few weeks too, actually, b/c the 0-3 were too big on her.
But, I did pack newborn & 0-3 outfits, just in case!

My baby was 8 pounds 1 ounce, but the newborn clothes were still somewhat big on him. I should say he was pretty skinny at birth since he's also long. I know people who have 8 pound babies who can barely fit in newborn clothes.
I would wash one newborn, and bring a 0-3 too if you want. Any other newborn clothes, keep the tags on until you get home and you can decide about returning then.

My baby was just over 9 lbs and that was what he was measuring at a few days before he was born. I brought one NB outfit and one 0-3 month outfit and washed both of them.
I only had the one NB outfit which he outgrew in about a week and in the beginning he either wore snap tshirts and diapers covered up in a swaddle or onesies that were big on him. I didn't buy NB outfits because I didn't think they would fit him for long.
