How do you dress a newborn coming home in July?

I know it is early but I cant help but think about it. I was thinking of cotton strechy but not sure if pants and long sleeves is to warm. I delivered in April with my first and it was 75 degress when I brought him home and he was probably over dressed (he wore a velvet outfit)

What r u having? Julia was born in July and she wore Gap denim overall's and a pink and white stripe onesie home.

I put Molly in one of the layette sleepers that was open at the bottom, like a dress. It was perfect.

I was born in the first week of August and apparently, it was a scorcher. I still have the stretchy my parents brought me home in - yellow cotton.

Dress the little bundle in whatever you like...obviously a fleece sleeper with a onesie underneath might be extreme for July, but for a tiny and fresh baby, too thin and light might be cold! They won't really be outside all that long for the journey home.


My mom liked to roast my sister...poor kid was in flannel PJs in the dead of summer [born late June] and I remember thinking, she's sweating, why does my mommy think she needs soooooo many layers on.

We put DD in a jumper with a little jacket over it. She was borrn July 8th.

I used light weight stretchies. They worked out fine.

we didn't find out so we had two outfits - one boy, one girl. They were both short sleeve rayon-ish material, and had matching blankets.

E was born late June.
