RP: What size coming home outfit?
I'm trying to decide on an outfit and i've purchased mostly 0-3 months (no newborn). My doc actually advised me not to bother  with that size too but i'm thinking at least the coming home one should be?
What should I pack for baby for the hospital? Thanks and looking forward to joining your board in a few weeks  !

0-3 mnths was way too big for a while for my son. He was born at 7lbs 15oz and it was swimming on him.

I had a take home outfit that was 0-3 months but it was too big. My dh had to go home and get a smaller outfit. I think he brought an outfit from the Gap that was for newborns.
I would bring pants, shirt, hat, socks and a blanket for the baby to bring them home.

I had bought a newborn outfit...but I needed a preemie outfit instead.
DD wore the original coming home outfit in newborn size for Thanksgiving and it was still too big

We had a newborn size outfit to bring her home in and it was swimming on her (she was 6lbs 14oz) It was a dress with little "bloomies" underneath and when I put on the "bloomies" and picked her up they just fell right off.

We brought newborn too and it was way to big. I found some clothes by miniwear at babies r us and their newborn is smaller than carters. Its up to 7lbs. Aidan is 7lb 3 and it fits him perfectly. Hope that helps!

I had newborn size and it was HUGE on her. She was little though, 5lbs 13ounces. She wore preemie size clothes for about a month.

We had to use preemies for the first month. SHe is now just fitting into newborns. 0-3 months still swim on her.

DS was 7 Lbs 13 oz at birth and 21 inches.
He wore NB. I waited until the last month to buy it. I was not sure what size he was going to be.

Same here, all my NB outfits were HUGE on DS and he was 8lbs at birth. I went and bought him some premie sleepers and other stuff for the first month or so.

Hey maggie,
I needed preemie, my DS was born at 6lbs 7oz, 19 1/2 inches
My last growth sono at 38 weeks they were measuring him at 6lbs 12oz so he came out smaller.

With my 1st son I brought newborn however being born at 9lbs his pants looked more like capri's  So with my other two I brought 0-3mos and they worked (they were just a little big but I wouldn't of been able to get away w/ newborn either) they were over 8lbs. each.

I don't anticipate on having a large or small baby but I bought a preemie outfit for coming home. I bought Roman a cute newborn outfit to come home in and it was swimming on him, I didn't like the way it looked. Even if she wears it once, no big deal.

we had 0-3 and it was HUGE...Id go with newborn size...BUT, INO Carters runs BIG so stay away from nerborn Carters. As a PP said..Miniwear at BRU runs small...

DD was 8lbs 1oz and Newborn fit her with room to spare. She wore the same outfit for another couple of months too (it was a little dress with bloomers). Besides Miniwear, Koala Baby (at BRU) runs pretty true to size.

i took 0 -3 months and it was way to big my mum had to get premmie and thats what he wore for a good month he was 6lbs 4oz

Ds was 7 lbs and 21 inches and newborn clothes were big on him, i brought the same outfit to the hospital in a NB and 0-3 and then just kept and had him wear the 0-3 down the road
