What detergent are you using to wash the baby's clothes?
I THINK we used Dreft for DS#1. We have everything out that we need to wash. Just need to pick up special detergent to wash it with.

We use All Free & Clear (not All baby, even). I compared ingredients, and Dreft and All Baby have fragrances in them. DH actually doesn't do well with fragrances and I used to use Arm & Hammer powder for his clothes which worked great but they say to use liquid for babies, so I switched us all to the All and it's been great. I don't need smelly expensive detergent for DD to smell like a baby.

My MIL will be washing the baby's clothes before it comes, and she loves dreft, so I'm thinking dreft.
Afterwards, I'll use all or purex clear. I don't use detergents with dyes and fragrances now anyway.

with DS #1 we used Dreft for a while then switched to All Free and Clear. For this baby I don't plan on using Dreft, and going right to All F & C

I am pretty sure that Dreft is not a High Efficiency detergent which I need for my new machine so thats out. So far I grabbed a bottle of I think Arm & Hammer liquid no dyes no perfumes (it happened to be the one I saw first at Target) just to wash a couple of things. I happen to love smelly laundry detergents so it takes some getting used to for me but so far so good.

Dreft may have caused my son's skin to begin peeling off at just 3 months old! We immediately switched to Tide Free and haven't had any issues. I agree with you, Dreft is a joke!

I used Dreft with DS#1. This time I happened to notice All Free and Clear on sale. So I picked up a small bottle and have been using it on the clothes.

arm & hammer for sensitive skin (no perfumes or dyes). I am allergic to most laundry detergents, and this is one of the only detergents I can use without breaking out into a rash! so far, so good for rivka.

I never used Dreft with DS and wont this time either. I use All or Tide Free & clear.
I just make sure its perfume and dye free. DS never had any issues with it.
ETA: The PP is correct no dryer sheets. If I remember correctly the take away the flame retardant nature of some of the clothes/pjs... I just started with Dryer sheets for DS and he is 3yo.

I had Dreft with DS#1 and it was useless...hated it. Now we use All Free & Clear and love it. For DC#2 we will start with this from the beginning.

I used Method Baby...I loved the way it smelled. Once I saw she had no issues I stopped separating her clothes from ours.

We are going to be using Tide free and clear. I am allergic to many detergents and this one does not bother me and I hate to spend the $$ on seperate detergents. So we are going to be using the same for our little man's clothes and things.

For DS we used Dreft for the 1st year! Now we use All Free & Clear for all of us so that's what I will keep using when DD comes along.

They do have Dreft HE. I know bc I've bought it on accident a few times.
We used Dreft afor a long time now we switched to ALL free and clear (something like that)
