What can I do if I lost my tax rebate check?
Dh & I had a pile of papers - a bill from Ryan's delivery that won't go away - we're trying to fight it. Anyway, we had the bills and 2 checks - tax rebate and an insurance ck in a pile to deal with. We have tore the house upside down - no where to be found. Not sure if we accidentally tossed the stack 
Has this happened to anyone? Will they issue us another one?

I've never had this happen but you should cal them ASAP. the longer you wait the worse it is. you could always call and say you never got it it might work better

Q. My stimulus check was lost or destroyed. How do I get a new one?
A. Call the IRS toll-free at (800) 829-0582 and, when asked for an extension, enter 726. Overseas taxpayers call 215-516-2000 (not a toll-free number). If your stimulus check has not been cashed, we can normally provide a replacement within six to eight weeks. If your stimulus check has been cashed, the Financial Management Service will provide a claim package which includes a copy of the check. FMS will review the claim and the signature on the cancelled check before determining whether another refund can be issued.

Thanks so much! I wonder if I'll get charged a fee to get a new one. I'm calling right now!
ETS: This wasn't the right number - it was our STAR check that we can't find.

What do I do if I lost my check?
If you received a New York State rebate check but misplaced it, you need to call the State Department of Taxation and Finance at 1-866-358-2511 to request a lost check form. This form is not available on any web site. It is only available by speaking with a State Tax Department customer service representative.
