Commack Wedding Center--good price, but I hated the people there and they don't have a cap on alternations.
I had my dress altered at Helen's Bridal in Commack, loved them! We bought our bridesmaid dresses there too.

Village Bridal in Babylon but it was stella's (i think) in Copaigue when I purchased the gown and then they moved to Babylon. I went to many places, tried on many gowns and they didn't have my gown there that I had fell in love with but they ordered it and it was $300 cheaper there then other places.
Great service too!!

Went to David's Bridal first, bought a dress I LOVED there, and they screwed it up so bad, I needed a new dress 6 weeks before my wedding...Renate's was a dream to work with.

I got mine at Kleinfeld's. 
Same here. Ordered it at the old location in Brooklyn & did my fittings at the new store.  Such a great experience.

David's Bridal on Old Country Road. I got a great deal, they were discontinuing my dress, so I ended up getting the dress, veil & shoes for a little over $600.

Lestans in Brooklyn. I didnt have any trouble, but i've known quite a few people that have. so its kind of hit or miss with them.
That's where I got mine too. The sales people were awesome, they searched the whole store for a specific dress I wanted that they were one of only two stores in the area that carried.
The alterations were terrible, I wish I'd taken it to my seamstress instead.

I found my dress at Kleinfelds but wound up getting it from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place since it was easier than having to go to Brooklyn for fittings.

I bought mine at David's Bridal and had it altered at Ingrid's in Setauket (or Stony Brook - one of those).
A colleague of mine just got married and bought her dress and had it altered at Paradise Bridals in Patchogue and had a MISERABLE time. I know everyone says how wondering that place is but her dress was ordered wrong, they tried to convince her it was her fault (it wasn't), and then they gave her nothing but trouble when she wanted them to fix it.
