N/M I just saw it on the UFT site, WTF! I am sooo pissed that now we have to worry about the safety of what we sent over! Our SS #'s are of course on our taxes which was the 2nd document I just sent in. I'm so going to lose sleep over this!

Dear ,
In June, I wrote you a letter — and sent an email — describing the Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit that the New York City Office of Labor Relations was commencing for city health benefits. I also let you know that the Municipal Labor Committee, the coalition of municipal labor unions to which the UFT belongs, did not approve of this process. As a result, the MLC began legal actions to stop the process until all of our concerns were addressed.
I am pleased to let you know that yesterday a judge issued a Temporary Restraining Order that temporarily stops this audit process. Therefore, you should not at this time submit any documents or participate in this verification process until such time that we notify you to participate. I suggest that you compile the documents you will need and hold them for future use should negotiations create an approved process for this verification.
For those of you who have already submitted information, we are continuing the legal discussions about the security of such information and we will keep you informed as to the next steps.
We will keep you updated as the case moves forward.

You were supposed to black out your Ssn and any money info
Also ths was not just doe my retired parents had to do this too it is for any city worker current or retired who has ins through the city

They are doing this to NYC dept of sanitation workers as well and their union has told them from the beginning to not submit anything.
I never got a letter and I have DH on my insurance. The only thing I can think of is that my insurance is DH's secondary. I'm going to call this week.

OMG....so glad I found this post. I forgot about the letter and never submitted. Glad I didn't because now I read here that we were not supposed to submit anything! Whew!

I was under the impression that we did not have to fill this form out and I just got a "reminder" form this week due Oct. 4th....any idea if we are supposed to fill it out or ignore it? I don't want to ignore it because its health insurance for the family.

according to the union do not fill it out, i got an email from my union rep reiterating do not fill it out until further notice from the union
this is what my email said
A few weeks ago we notified you that the Municipal Labor Committee was granted a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on the Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit. This TRO is still in effect and although you may have received a “Final Reminder” letter, you should prepare the information but should not send it. We will notify you when and if the outstanding issues are resolved. Visit the UFT Welfare Fund’s webpage for more information and updates.

I sent it before the uft said not to. And If they take away our benefits the union will just roll over and play dead the same way they do for every other issue. They suck and I'm tired of paying them for no reason. They're useless

Can someone post the info on how to do this? My uft rep said i beed to do this even if i only use welfare fund. She hasnt told me how i do it though.

Ok...so I forgot all about this until just the other day. I asked DH to get me all the documents because he is in charge of them. My marriage license is missing... It doesn't seem like I can submit without it and I only have 2 days left...what is going to be the problem if DH is dropped because of this? Will I be able to put him back on right away???
