UPDATE 6/23 at bottom of 1st post!!! Ugghh...when it rains, it pours
So, last week DS had 104.5 fever for about 4 days. The fever breaks and a rash broke out so we knew it was Roseola. He felt much better...DH and I were no longer worried, everything seemed good.
Than...Saturday night I go to bed early b/c I was exhausted. I wake up at 1:30 am feeling very hot, sweaty, dizzy and it with horrible chest pains. It felt like someone was stabbing me through the heart. The pain radiated through my chest into my upper back. I doubled over in pain and woke DH up. I though ok...maybe it's gas or maybe its my gall bladder. I had no idea what it was. Labor was a 10 on a scale of 1-10, this was an 8. I walked around for 30 min. or so clenching my chest. The pain didnt go away if I was standing, sitting, bent over...it didnt matter. DH called 911 they came and took me to the hospital. ON the way to the hospital my hands felt like pins and needles and my legs got cold. My heart rate was all over the place. When they got to the hospital they did an EKG which I have had a ton of times b/c I have a heart murmur and mitral valve prolapse and it was abnormal. I'm know it couldnt be a heart attack b/c I am only 27, I was able to talk and I was breathing ok. They send a cardiologist to see me. I still have the chest pain and they gave me aspirin. Shortly after they gave me the aspirin and some shot to prevent blood clots the chest pains started to lessen. First they though I had an infection in my heart b/c I had been to the dentist a few days earlier (patients with mitral valve are supposed to take antibiotics before any kind of procedure) but I had been on antibiotics. Than they though it was pericarditis which is swelling in the lining of the heart. They though it could have been my gallbladder. They kept me in the hospital for 2 days, ran a bunch of tests and found NOTHING!!!! Of course I didnt want them to find soemething bad but at the same time I wanted an explanation as to why I had horrible chest pains for 4 hours and still now every so often get either a stabbing pain for a few seconds or it feels like someone is squeezing my heart. My own cardiologist works out of St. Francis and is not affiliated with South Nassau so my mom made me make an appt. to go to see him tomorrow for a 2nd opinion. It was so scary. DH thought I was haivng a heart attack. I am just so nervous b/c what if something like that happens again when I am alone with DS, ya know?
Pls. pray we can get some answers tomorrow!

Chrissy - that is SO scary!! I am so sorry this happened to you. Thank God everything turned up OK, but I know what you mean about not having any answers. Keep us posted after the cardiologist. I also understand the fear of something happening to you while alone with DS.

That is very scary. When I started reading, I was thinking "Uhoh Gall bladder attack"...What you described is exaclty what happened to me when I had my attack.
I am so sorry they didn't find anything.
It;s so hard not having answers.

I dont want to lessen what you have been through and some people will feel this is, but you have described a few of my horrid panic attacks, every symptom. Sometimes a real ache or pain will get my mind wandering and then my body loses it and creates a million horrible, even worse symptoms , and its uncontrollable....did they mention that?

i totally agree. it sounds like a classic panic attack. this just happened to me in october. i was sitting here when all of a sudden the room started spinning, i couldnt breathe, my arms and hands went numb. i called 911. then i made myself so scared i was going to die that the symptoms got worse. when 911 came they told me what i just had was a classic panic attack. im glad your feeling better
